Lovely Place and Delicious Eggs

As soon as you enter this place, the ambiance and decor gives you a young and refreshing vibe. The variety in the menu is remarkable, how many ways to eat your egg :).. The food is excellent, well prepared, and taste is great too.. The service at times can be frustrating when it gets crowded.
Over all a nice place to eat eggs in a different manner :) Highly recommended.

A totally new and refreshing experience

I found out about Egg factory through burrp and decided to give it a try, being an ex MITian and an egg lover. I guess you could say that my great experience started the moment I walked through the door. Very relaxed atmosphere, I prefer this place to hang out over any of the coffee shops in Bangalore. Menu is great. They've done a great job putting together dishes from around the world.
Decor is unlike anything you've ever seen, and that includes the restroom!

My personal favorite is their Egg florentine (slurrp) and their delicious coffee.
It would be really cool if they could have some sort of option to serve sausages along with the scrambled eggs. It makes a great combination, whether for breakfast or any time dining.

Overall, this is my favorite place to come to! Great work guys!

An Eggstatic Experience

I visited this place with a couple of my friends from school. I loved the ambience, and the staff was eager to serve you. I loved the decor of the place, very rustic, stuck to the theme of EGGS....Thought the seating was very rough and not very comfortable. The food on the other hand blew our minds away....It was wonderful to see egg being incorporated into every dish in a beautiful way....We had the pastas, french toast and some mock-tails...The service was quick, clean and lovely...It is one place I am sure to visit again...Value for money and in the heart of Bangalore....

Its all about egg

Did you know that a restaurant exists in Bangalore where every preparation in the menu has egg!! Reviews indicated that it is a good place for a quick meal which was perfect because it was a busy day at work for my wife and we didn't have time for a long meal.

Egg Factory is located right behind Dewar Wines on St Marks road (opposite SBI). One can see the board from St Marks road itself. Parking, as usual, is a nightmare in that area so it is good to keep that into account.

It is a small restaurant with 10 to 12 tables and furnished in a spartan manner. Menu was very interesting. It was like a multilingual manual that comes with electronic products, a big page folded several times into manageable size and has contents in four different language. Very cool!

We ordered ice teas for us and found them to be not as lemony as we liked. Requested them to get some extra lime for us and that did the trick.

There are subs, omelettes, frittatas, pastas with cooked eggs in sauce, egg curry with rice ... the list is pretty long!! We ordered a frittata with zucchini and cilantro sauce and a penne pasta with desi sauce (tailored for indian palate i.e. spicy). Pasta sauce had cooked egg pieces in it. Both the entrees were served with a big slice of garlic bread. Advantages of small restaurant is that food comes piping hot on your table and sometimes that makes a lot of difference. We really enjoyed the food although frittata could be a bit thicker with chunkier vegetables in it.

For dessert, we had a variation of french toast stuffed with raisins and served hot with orange sauce on a sizzler plate. It was very nice (and very filling too).

Music is un-intrusive and service is prompt. Prices are very reasonable. We liked the place and will go again for a quick lunch. Thinking about it again, it would be a perfect place for a Sunday brunch!

All in all, thumbs up for egg factory.

Decent fare Decent Prices

The fare was decent but nothing to write home about. The prices were decent. The place was nice and minimal but could use upkeep. Dissapointed with coffee selection as they have one of those machines I hate.

limited menu! average food!

i went on a quiet Monday afternoon! it was almost empty! we sat on a corner table, and found the menu along with the napkins! its a confusingly folded menu! with such a limited menu, we selected a fajita, an egg biriyani, a pasta, egg florentine, and a frittata! a waiter came after a loong time and shattered all our hopes! half the things were not available that day! we ended up having only the egg biriyani and egg cannelloni alforno! it was very disappointing! our food came after half an hour in a restaurant that was empty! we weren't given any glasses! there was a wine bottle with water in on the table!
you can improve a lot! best of luck!

Great Experience

I visited The Egg Factory on Sunday and found the place interesting. The food choices, the atmosphere is just refreshing. I had pasta (filled with egg bhurji) and Roasted chilli fritatta and both the dishes were awesome. Even Coffee and Ice tea tasted very good. This place is a must visit for all.
Dear Mr.Mokashi, Do you have any expansion plans, looking to open more outlets? Do let me know.

Yummy eggie!!

If you are an Egg lover, this is the must visit place if you are around St. Marks road anytime. One of the best omlettes served backed up with some toast , bread and jam. You'll never find such a varieties anywhere in bangalore and mouth watering taste wil make you keep on eating and visiting the place again and again. Nice ambience with funny quotes all around the place inside. 4 chilli omlette is my favorite one there. Only one problem with this place is the bad smell from the drainage next to the restaurant which spoils the mood, but if we close the windows, that problem is solved, hope Egg Factory guys will do something for the same.

Bitter Experience!

I have always been a huge fan and a regular at The Egg Factory..and over the last two years visited the restaurant quite a few times...but my last experience which was on March 1 '13 has me thinking if one of my favourite hangouts has lost its charm.

My friend and i ordered Egg Chilli to start with. It arrived in no time and it was rubbery, salty and tasted quite stale. We returned the dish and it was promptly replaced with a fresh plate by the staff which tasted a little better.

My friend ordered the Cannelloni tube pasta which i have tasted a milion times...and i was quite disappointed with it. It was just about average. I ordered Chilli Frittata which was ok. The only savior for the day was the Ice Lemonade which was done right.

Has the chef been changed in the last few months?

Went to egg factory few days back for the first time. Had heard a lot about it from my friends. Truly did stand up to its repute of being THE hot spot for egg lovers :) The variety of egg dishes offered is amazing. The staff too is friendly.

PS: One visit is not good enough. You have to go there several times to try out ALL those variety of dishes!!

'Egg' On!

Hidden as many others have said, nothing else is a minus here!We had spicy egg, and omlette and until I looked into the paper bag, did not realise that toasted bread, butter had also been packed along with it, Very good place, courteous service! But w what the idea of giving warm milk, hot water and a dip bag , when I had asked for tea?? That was my sore point! I got to talk to Mr. Yogesh and he was utmost nice to talk to, and very pleased that I had taken trouble to locate the place, despite the fact that Iam from Chennai! Keep it going guys you got it right!

Egg factory is a unique concept cafe-cum-restaurant with a great diversity on menu. A good combination of comfy ambiance, attentive cook line staffers & the customized menu, We were two persons and ordered the 'Frittata in Tomato' which was delicious, then we had the 'Boiled Egg Burjee' which tasted just too good, 'Kutthu Paratha' was the next thing on our platter which is a mixture of paratha and scrambled eggs and tasted

Arrogance is the first step of downfall

I have been to EggFactory multiple times. I liked the food most of the times. But the service quality, behavior of the staff, and service is declining every passing day. From being nice, they have gone to indifferent to nasty.
Want to mention two incidents.
On first occasion I was with two of my friends on a Sunday morning. We ordered some food and coffee. They got the coffee immediately after ordering, much before the food. If I have not visited the place earlier, I would have given them the benefit of doubt that probably they give coffee before food to everyone (whoever orders both). But that was not the case during my earlier visits. Anyways, then they came with food for two. When enquired about the third dish, the waiter said its coming. After Waiting for 10 minutes when still the food didn’t come, I told them that they should bring everyone’s food together. I was given the lecture by the waiter that its not possible to get everyone’s food together and how everyone else waits etc.
Recently again went back with family and friends. We were 5 of us and this time the food for everyone came at the same time. We had ordered coffee as well which we wanted with the food. But the coffee didn’t come. When we went to complain, the answer was
“De rahe hein naa…kya problem hey”…(whats your problem, we will give you..) as if it’s a charity and we are standing in the queue to get free food.
The food remains good. But with this attitude and service quality, I don’t think I will go there ever again. I think they feel that since their restaurant is rated very highly by the patrons, they can be arrogant and behave rudely and still people will come. But they forget that it’s the same people who can also bring them to the ground.

Eggilicious

I call this place the world of eggs. I have been here more than 5 times and every single time i crave for more. There are hell lot of items on the menu and I can bet you, you will be left confused what to order if you are visiting for the first time. The ambiance is very good with egg shells on the small lights and water being served in wine bottles. But the USP of this place is the food. I love 'Royal Bengal Curry' and order every time I go there.

The Egg factory.

This is one of my favorite restaurants in Bangalore. I have gone there for breakfast, lunch, dinner, evening snack. It's the ideal place to hog down a Saturday/Sunday Brunch. I have tried almost everything on their menu and my favorites are 3 Cheese Omelette, all the Mexican preparations, French Toast and Caramel Custard. Somehow I don't like their Scrambled Egg variations including Akoorie but I guess its my personal taste since lot of people here seem to like it. Also I love the minimalistic factory like ambiance and if you get a seat by the windows, its just perfect.

The only crib I have about this place is the inconsistent service. Service here has varied from polite-friendly-indifferent-downright rude. I kind of get the feeling that the waiters here are randomly picked for the job and have no previous experience in this respect. This is ok but they should know at least the basic manners to behave with customers. I am not very uptight about service unless of course its fine dining and I can look past things like waiting a little to get the waiter's attention or having to remind them for something, especially considering the food here is awesome. But the last time I was here, (about 2 months ago), the waiter was a new guy, and when I placed the order he obviously was not familiar with the fancy name of the dish and made a face as if I was putting him through some difficulty and called another guy who took the order and again assigned it to the new one. I got my dish with untoasted bread and I politely asked him to take it back and get the bread toasted. When he didn't budge, I firmly put the dish in his hand . Now he talks to the other waiter quite rudely right in front of me and takes the dish back on the other waiter's advice. All I asked was for toasted bread. I get the dish back in less than a minute with the bread showing less than little signs of having gone through toasting. Not wanting to make a scene, I didn't say anything further. Now I get coffee again with sugar separate, and no tea spoon (or rather coffee spoon) to mix the sugar. I ask for one and the waiter picks up the rather big tablespoon kept on the table and hands it over to me and I know for sure they do give tea spoons for the above purpose. Sorry if I sound fussy , but the service that day was downright rude !!

I knocked out one point for their service, but otherwise its an awesome place.

Service Gone Down!

Got there early evening; Coming back after almost 3 years which I used to frequent while working out of Lavelle Road; I must say that the service has gone down compared to my prior visits. Love the food, Love the variety and love the place and mostly love their pricing but the employees there seem to have been lost in their own conversations when we were there.

We were a bunch of 3 and there were about 5 others there when we ordered. In spite of this, the staff took a reasonable amount of time to get the ordered food for us. They MISSED OUT an entire dish from our order namely the caramel custard which was billed to us... When we tried to reach out the staff for a gentle reminder, the 2 waiters and the cashier were indulged in a casual laughing conversation at the counter hence didn't hear us calling politely and we had to resort to clapping our hands in an empty restaurant to catch their attention even after the chef inside tried to call them to say that we were requesting for their attention.

Overall, I found the service to have deteriorated drastically as I used to frequent this place and I must say that their creativity and quality of food will be affected by this lack of service. I did notice the various certificates on the walls such as Burrp, Zomato and even one from Star World MasterChef's choice!!!

I only wish they would hire eastern indian guys to work as the quality of service provided by them is impeccable and undoubtedly very much better than the local crowd of namma bengaluru.

Eggcellent Place for Brunch

Some of the best dishes: French toast stuffed with cream cheese and blueberry preserves, served with maple syrup; Frittata stuffed with potatoes, zucchini and feta and topped with cilantro chilly sauce; Egg cannelloni alforno (tube pasta stuffed with eggs, mushrooms and red pepper), served with garlic bread; and, best of all, the Scrambled egg spaghetti (classic spaghetti in scrambled eggs). The blends are pretty good too, especially the "Blend It Like Hawaii" and the "Chlorophyll Fix."

Neither eggzotic nor egregious

Yesterday I stepped in to this restaurant with my guy, when it was raining. This one's easy to trace. There were a couple and a family inside.... I took fajitas, my guy took French toast with supposedly cheese n all that, n we took a mixed fruit punch. We were enjoying every bit of the wet climate outside, from the window relaxing... the fruit punch was good, just like the ones u get outside. My fajitas were good, but his French Toast was not up to the mark.I did not taste any bit of cheese... They served good quantities (unlike Elements.. Phew!!!) , but the toast was not that tasty. It could'e been better. The omelette n other egg savouries may have been good, but our food was not very impressive.U can be assured of a nice cozy private time, since there's no one to stare at u, passing remarks. The bill came to Rs.260 inc VAT. Would I go there again? Nope;I'd rather check out other hangouts.....

Eggs of all shapes and sizes

Egg factory is the safest bet on St. Marks Road or on any other road for eggs. For breakfast, lunch or dinner (brunch time, the best time), you know you'll leave the place more than just satisfied.

They've themed the restaurant with their name and have done a decent job with that. Inviting enough, to say the least. Do check out their loo if you are interested in themed restaurants. They have a menu that is in the form of a user's manual that comes with any kind of gadget or device. Not one to add hyperbole, I'll just say that the decor will keep you busy till the food arrives.

Once the food arrives, the plate will demand your complete attention. If you're stumped with what to order, I tell you shut the decision-making region of your brain and pick any item and leave the rest to the god-sent chef. I have tried most of them and one egg dish beats the other. Their coffee and tea may not be to kill for, but well above the decency level.

The waiters are well-mannered and prompt, yet not the ones who 'egg' you to order/pay/leave, leaving you (and your mates) to your pace.

This place really rates as one of the most decent joints in Bangalore that does well above average in terms of quality (of food and service), value for money, ambiance and experience.

Loved it !

This one truly belongs to Burrp !
After reading tons of reviews here, I forced my hubby today. We had a great time, loved the ambience and the eggs :P
The ultimate veggie omlette needed some more veggies, all I could find was onion and tomato. Frittata with tomato sauce was good. And spicy burji was awesome !
Good food and reasonable rates, Parking an issue, but most places in Bangalore have this issue !

We have already decided, what we gonna have on the next visit.
Not sure, if this place is kid friendly, I doubt, since loads of youngsters coming. Will check with my toddler next time :)

Whatta great lil' joint!

The Egg factory was one of the first places my husband and I started "re-visiting" often when we moved to Bangalore in November last year and it soon became our Sunday mid-morning pitstop for a few months...If there is only one element that makes our Sunday brunch experience incomplete, it is the lack of alcohol :D

What are the chances of being served up at least a wine and beer menu in the near future Yogesh? I'm holding on to that 5th star until then :D

Cheers and keep up the good work!

A haven for all Egg Lovers: 3.5/5

The place is a haven for all egg lovers. Located on St'Marks road, just behind Kabab Korner, the place serves everything and anything from egg.

It has some really nice interiors. The menu is presented in a very different style, which I kind of like it. They serve eggs in all different formats and style.

In Bangalore, this is regular place for me for breakfast during the weekends. Having visited the place quite often and at different meals I must say they have a very rich menu catering to different meals all day. However my favorite time has always been visiting them for breakfast. The food is really good and very well priced. Even the staff is very friendly and cordial.

But I am bit disappointed with their Spanish Omlette's. Having been in europe and knowing what a spanish omlette is, I can definitely say they need to improve on this dish. Also they can do much better with their french toasts.

In all when in Bangalore, you can definitely visit the place for breakfast.

Awful.

We'd heard great reviews about this place from a friend of ours, so we ordered a bunch of stuff when we went - the three cheese omelette, a french toast, caramel custard, some sort of rice/egg island thing, scrambled eggs, and a couple of other items on the menu.

Major fail. The three cheese omelette was like a regular omelette you'd cook at home - on a bad day. The egg/rice island thing was unspeakably awful - we each barely managed a valiant spoonful before having to abandon it. The french toast was sorely disappointing - tasted like they were really scrimping on the egg, which is ironic given the name and all that. The scrambled eggs were passable. Thought it could use a bit of seasoning though. The caramel custard, mercifully, was decent. Hardly mitigated the rest of the meal though.

For all the money we spent there, we barely made it through the meal. I don't plan on going back, and needless to say, the friend of mine that asked us to try it out has lost major points on my recommendation scale.

I wouldn't say any of us had very exacting or high standards or expectations. We've had grub at local dhabas and cheap diners, and loved what we'd got. This though, was just .. bad.

the simplicity of good ol' scrambled eggs!

There are somethings in life that one shouldn't experiment with... and a simple breakfast of scrambled eggs with toast certainly makes my list of 'not to be tampered with'.

I mean who in their right mind would want to experiment with the recipe for perfectly scrambled eggs, served with toast and butter?? Its a no brainer!! Pour some oil into a hot pan, toss in the eggs, stir a lil and voila!

I especially hate those "cheese & tomato omlettes" ... In my mind there's something really insane about that combination!

One not so early Sunday morning, I stepped into Egg Factory, St. Marks Road. The place was brimming with life... everyone from the "arty-farty" to "Mr. bad hangover", were diggin into their eggetarian delights.

These young hip people, were probably still in school when 'Coffee House', MG Road was an institution that every self-respecting Bangalorean revered! Coffee House now is a sorry story, reduced to an air-conditioned coffee shop that's lost the charm & glory of its former location. Anyways, to cut a long story short... Egg Factory offers something unique and you walk in expecting the barest of the bare... no-nonsense eggs and some good coffee.

As you sit down, you can't but notice a coffee vending machines placed near the kitchen, like the ones they have in our BPOs. Its an immediate turn-off, I mean can't I get freshly grounded coffee or is that too much to expect? I make a mental note to order juice instead. I spot what appears to be a Manual of some casio calculator (the ones with instructions in Japanese/Taiwanese scripts on them)... I'm pleasantly surprised to find that this is indeed the menu! Why they also have a Japanese translation, I can only wonder... must be to appear "cool" or something!

I go through their mind-boggling list of Eggetarian stuff... from omelettes to Egg vindaloo to Egg Penne to Egg Biryani to egg curry to egg Fajitas to milkshakes & smoothies (no egg here I assume)... I'm scratching my head looking for the simplest thing to eat... apparently scrambled eggs with spinach.. is as close as they get to the puritanical version of the scrambled egg.

The service is quick, as it hardly takes time to prepare eggs & I have my fork wiped clean to dig in. On first taste, the egg is soft and appears mildly spiced. There's a hint of Mint, and the spinach appears sparsely spread. Immediately, you know you've got a winner! The sparsely added spinach makes for a delightful combination... and chases away the boredom, that can sometimes be a plain egg.

I came away delighted that I'd found a great new place that I could retreat to everytime I wanted a break from my beloved South Indian breakfast.

Eggeterians Paradise... Wow!

Had heard a lot of raves about this place, finally visited it last Saturday with another foodie friend. We planned a brunch, so reached the place around 11.30. Apart from another guy busy munching his eggs, the place was practically empty. The ambience is really cool with the blackboard concept all over.
As I had done my research and downloaded the menu from zomato, I barged into the place to settle my rumbling stomach. Before that, took a quick peek into their cool menu. Behold! there were many more things than what I read online. But I had made up my mind, so we ordered French toast with blueberry preserve and maple syrup, 4 Chilli omelet, iced tea and a cappuccino.
In less than 5 minutes the food was on our table. I was impressed at their super quick service(a lot of places in spite of hardly having any customers, take at least 10 mins to serve). The blueberry toast was out of this world. My friend just didn’t speak to me till his licked the last of the crumbs off his plate (He’s dying to go back for more of this). The chilli omelet, I expected it to be spicy but it was pretty insipid. Had to shake some salt into it though it hardly helped. My friend loved the iced tea. My cappuccino was good but there was no hint of hazelnut flavor I had asked for. Who cares! I have come here for the eggs!
Next we ordered the spicy egg burji and cilantro chilly sauce frittata. Meanwhile we took turns to check out the much talked of restrooms, walked out the door with a smile. LOL.
The spicy burji was good and the frittata was out of this world. My mouth waters at the thought of that fluffy egg topped with green cilantro chilly sauce. Eggeterians delight! The bread served along was crisp and fresh. A definite must try.

Badly wanted to try the Huevos Racheros but we didn’t have space to stuff it in. Will surely try it next time which would be real soon. Looking forward for the desi penne pasta too. I have been raving about The egg factory to all my colleagues.
The bill for all this delicious food was ~350 INR(they don't levy S.tax or S. charge) Believe it or not! what more can you ask for?

P.S. Yogesh- don’t be surprised if you get unexpected crowd next weekend. You have one amazing place with a different concept. Love it!

This is place is good for egg lovers. It is moderately priced and the quality and delivery time is decent. The Bull's Eye is a must try. Nice ambience and and on a lighter note not meant for couples just for hard-core bachelors :)

Egg-stremely good food!

With all the reviews on this place, TEF was a 'must-try' on my list. After pestering few friends of mine, I finally got them to meet me here for lunch (made sure it wasn't just for breakfast, so that I could try more than the usual omelettes and the scrambled eggs)

I love the ambience of this place. It looks like one of those European cafes and have lots of witty writings on the wall. Their menu is quite exhausting with various delicious-sounding egg items which I was excited to try.

I ordered the egg Canneloni (tube pasta stuffed with eggs and a delicious sauce) which was yummy! I also ordered the hyped Garden Frittata, served with greasy bread, which didn't have too much going for it. I honestly felt that it was a little insipid for my taste. However, the Southwestern Frittata had melted Cheddar all over it, which made it irresistible. My friend ordered some Mexican sounding egg dish, whose name I don't remember (Huevros? Rarchos? Something!) which were served with Tortillas and were nothing short of scrumptious.

But my personal favourite had to be the French Toast. Not a big fan of the regular French Toast myself, I just decided to have a bite. However, it was so ridiculously delicious that I'm still savouring its sweet taste. It had a layer of blueberry jam, which made it ten times more delicious and made every bite impeccable and delightful.

And for drinks, we didn't really want to experiment with the coolers they had (cucumber, carrot, watermelon, etc.), so we opted for traditional Cold Coffees and Iced Teas. I must say they were the best Cold Coffee and Iced Tea I had ever tasted. The coffee, especially had such a fresh taste and had an aroma of just-grounded-beans giving it an irreplaceable, immaculate flavour.

The downside, however, was the service. There wasn't much of a crowd when we entered, and despite that, the waiters didn't tend to us. We had to ask for water repeatedly, and were finally served ten minutes later (by the same waiter who would always ask surprised when we asked for water). The glasses smelt of egg, which was an immediate put-off. They did not have the much-talked about Basil Pesto Pasta, which was a complete disappointment. In addition, they did not have the soya ham bits, much to our dismay. We didn't expect them to really run out of these things at 12 30 on a Sunday afternoon. It loses a star because of the poor service.

All in all, a complete fun place, with egg-cellent food! A must-try! :)

Egg - xactly!

Lovely place, great ambiance. Note – I may be a bit biased since I am fond of eggs – amazingly nutritious within reasonable calorie limits , and yummy too!
Now about the place – I tried the egg Florentine and the akuri. Akuri was 90% to the authentic parsi way of making it, so full marks there, generous enough portions. The Florentine was good. Generous portions again. The soft boiled eggs were made to perfection – not too watery or firm. The place is comfortable, tucked away in a bylane of St Mark’s road so its pretty chilled. Ideal lunch/brunch joint for those lazy weekends or office lunch.

Awesome Breakfast Place

So we were wondering where to have breakfast on a lazy Sunday morning and wifey suggested this place called Egg factory for breakfast..
We reached the place fairly easily, though its on a one-way.. so having missed the turn, we had to take a longish way back.. but must I say.. the place was amazing.. Lots of omelettes and scrambled eggs which kept us busy for a long time.. great food.. nicely priced...
Only down-side.. and am being deliberately critical.. was the lack of good coffee.. I believe they provide only the pre-mix machine coffee.. which is a bit of a dampener.. else the entire experience was great !! Totally recommended !!

Awesome!!!

After a long wait I visited this place yesterday evening. I had gone through the reviews in Burrp, so had lots of expectations. And I should say this place didn't disappoint me at all. We were 7 in numbers, among us we had one frnd who was a veggie. We ordered basic basil for her and it was really yummy and filling. We ordered chilly fritattas, Pasta with egg bhuji, french toast with blueberry preserve, Quesadilla and malabar roast. For drinks v had cold coffee, ice tea and soft drinks. Everything tasted very good. The service was also very prompt and friendly. The decor of the place is also a plus point, it gives u that factory type looks. Overall it was a great experience. I am really eager to go for a second visit. They hav a lot of items in their menu which I wanna try. :)

Very good.

I lived in South Portland, ME, USA for a long time. Just across my apartment complex I had a restaurant called "Eggspectations". That restaurant was one of my favorites. Excellent service, very good and innovative food.

So when I heard of this restaurant (from Burrp) which was same in execution, I took my wife and kid along for breakfast one day.

The restaurant is located in a bylane of St marks road. One tip for people who cannot locate it, search it on wikimapia.org.
Parking is available on bylane and main road.

Ambience is overall good. Service is excellent. Staff is very well trained. Another good thing is service is not hurried. I saw many families taking time on Sunday morning and reading newspaper. Owner was sitting on another table, having his breakfast with his wife and lovely daughter. He stopped by to inquire if everything was going well.

The food had a great lot of variety, and of course the main ingredient was egg. I did not try any of their main course items, as I went for breakfast. But, overall good variety and good food.

The bill was relatively less, and the food is good value for money.

As regards to the restaurant in South portland, Egg factory doesn't match 100% but very close.

I will probably not be a regular at this place, as I live far off. But I would definitely like to visit every once in a while when I am around.

Egg-ilicious!

Okay this place has been our favy for "late Sunday brunches" (yes we are lazy ones on Sunday noons!) And from the look of things we were even lazy to not have penned our feelings about this place! The joint is "egg-some"!
For a couple who are in love with eggs and thank the chicken (which we would have eaten the night before!) for have given us the perfect breakfast in a shell; The Egg Factory was a find!!! And find it sure was, we found our favorite breakfast here! The omelette's are marvelous and so is the main course (am really sorry I dont remember the names, but theres one Mexican dish we love!). Try out the creme filled French toasts and load em up with a nice topple of maple syrup, Jam everything with a nice cuppa cold coffee to finish a nice egg-ilicious sunday brunch!

For those wondering how much could anyone charge for a 3rs/egg?! Well surprisingly not much at all! For a 3 course meal for two people (and yes we eat a lot!) it never goes above 500, though yea make wise choices, trust me its "egg-zy"
The ambiance is tummy warming, yep its appetizing especially on the far right corner table which overlooks the lovely neighboring church and the view is even better on sundays!

One thing that might really complete the experience would have been the IHOP style pancakes with a bullseye! And if the owners really feel like upping the experience, throw in some sausages along with it ;)

The only reason we chose to give it a 4/5 is because we have to smile say "No its not, not anywhere!" at the waiters when they tell us "Maple syrup is charged extra with the creme french toasts"

A nice cosy palce

I just had lunch at this place and am glad to write this review.
I usually take some time to write a review but I couldn't wait to review this place.
Being a Huge Huge fan of Egg , i was suggested this place by a friend.
I had Spicy egg burji,(Scrambled egg with Onion/spices) server with bread, butter and Jam. Must say, the best burji I've had, Sinful taste. later i ordered malabar curry combo Servedwith 2 small parathas, rice , Boiled eggs in groundnut gravy, pickles. The Curry was yum. Also ordered Cucumber Juice thingi which was so so.. My friends had ordered Egg biryani, Some pasta Egg thingi and Omelettes. which they liked...
The best part is, there's a gentleman who is always asking if the food was good, . There's a personal touch, nice hospitality... You know, small little things like this makes good business .. Good Going..

There's one downside, parking woes.. My vehicle was towed away :(

But yea, the food was worth it :)
Will visit thsi place soon....

Went to TEF today morning for the first time for a breakfast meet with some of my old peers from work. The fact of getting up early on a Sunday Morning was always bothering me till we hit the place and tried out some of the delicacies. It was indeed mind blasting !! Loved It

A holiday on Thursday saw a friend and me heading out to TEF for brunch. It's located on St. Marks Road behind Deewar Wine Stores. The decor is quite unique with pipes running all over and quirky quotes . The ambiance screams casual comfort and I loved that. The menu reads like an instruction manual and is interesting and extensive.

To begin with we ordered the 3 cheese omlette. Surprisingly it was light and fluffy and one could discern the three different cheeses. I ordered a Fruit Blast and Aditi ordered a Tropical Hawaii. The fruit blast was a banana strawberry smoothie and simply yumm (slurp! slurp!). Aditi's drink was an exotic concoction which was refreshing (Personally, I think the Fruit Blast was better).

Next we ordered the Basil Pesto (it's part of a new pasta menu there)which was my favourite. The sauce was different and I really really liked it. It broke the traditional tomato and cheese sauce barrier and was a pleasant surprise. After this we ordered the Curry Vindaloo which was the only dish that didn't quite hit the mark. It had too much ginger for my liking and it was slightly undercooked. The parathas were a bit dry too.

To round off the meal we ordered the chocolate sin and that was delicious. Whipped cream on top, a large layer of dark chocolate mousse and a wonderful crust. Soooo many calories but soooo totally worth it.
Apart from this, TEF also has an array of interesting dishes. I want to try the fritatas some time and the French toast is brilliant. Our meal cost around Rs. 500 (including tip). The quantities are decent and should be enough for one person. Everything about this place appealed to me and I strongly recommend this place for a light, lazy meal.

An Eggy Nook

You open the doors to The Egg Factory and the first thing that hits you is how easy and comfortable this restaurant makes you feel. The ideal place where I would love to eat food slowly, with my feet up and a great book in hand! This restaurant simply lets you be for various reasons that surpasses food.

We ordered for some fresh apple juice and a Mocacchino and both were delicious! Now coming to the food itself,I am a true egg-lover since I am a vegetarian , I depend on eggs to get my protein fix everyday more than anything else.I have had the Bread Masala(speciality of Manipal) twice and have simply loved this dish for the warm homey feel it gives me.The Chilli spinach omelette comes with two slices of bread and generous helpings of butter, and though it is well done, I think the blandness of this dish upset me a little especially since it is supposed to be a Chilli dish...up the spiciness and this one is a winner! The Huevos Rancheros(ranch eggs for those who havent heard of this Mexican favorite) was something that I was really looking forward to and it was done just right with the gooey eggs mixed with the salsa-like veggies chopped up served as a sizzler. The tortillas could have been better though as it was hard and very tasteless(from reheating i suspect).

Our last order was the Tiramisu and I must say this was all wrong, it just wasnt good and really wasnt Tiramisu at all tastewise or appearancewise. On the whole, the food is very good though I would have expected it to have been excellent, the service is quick and the ambience is to-die-for(perhaps a few cushions needs to be thrown in apart from the existent ones as the wooden benches tend to get a bit uncomfortable after sometime).I will visit The Egg Factory more often as I think it is perfect for that lazy weekend brunch sort of experience and I do hope I can review it again the next time and be able to give it a 5 stars than the 4 stars that I've given it now.

Interesting concept but usually disappoints

I've been a few times, but lately the few good dishes don't make up for its shortcomings. Granted, the only protein that they serve is eggs. They do a good job of tying eggs into their dishes, and the prices are reasonable. On the down side, service is almost nonexistent. Last visit, we had to go out of our way to call someone over for menus, for silverware, for water, for desserts, and then for the check. They also completely forgot to bring someones dish, and when asked, said it was coming. 5 minutes later we had to ask again. 10 minutes later we finally got it.

The menu is affordable and interesting, but unnecessarily confusing. The categories on each page are very non-descriptive, and completely out of order. There are only a few items on each page, which look like they were printed from an Excel spreadsheet. Once I ordered the "Musty Mushroom: a must for mushroom lovers." It was a pasta dish with an alfredo sauce. Nothing indicated that it was a pasta dish, and there were only trace amounts of mushroom. The heading of the page only said something goofy like "Eggstraordanary DIshes."

I don't understand the little scribbles on the wall, it's as if someone copied a corny joke website, but botched the grammer. And who wants to see words like "urine " on a chalkboard while they eat?

I hope the Egg Factory will focus less on silly puns and more on quality and service. Until then, I'll look elsewhere to get my egg fix.

"Eggs"traordinary

A friend was leaving to the States. So we decided to meet up with the handful of Manipal classmates in Bangalore. We have been to the Egg Factory before and thoroughly enjoyed it. The others had heard of it and always wanted to try it... so it made the perfect place to catch up.

In true tribute to our Manipal days, we just decided to order dishes, place it in the centre and attack... Two of us went for Pink Lady, while two others went in for the Morning Burst which was bananas,, orange juice, yoghurt and milk. Yummy!!!

We started of with the scrambled eggs with spinach - our health dose for the evening. The eggs were creamy and the spinach soft and well mixed enough for us to ignore the greens.

Next came the omelette with green chillies - quite the spice fest but then we knew what we were asking for... junior partied on the garlic bread that came with each dish.

Next came the Eggs and Mushroom Ragout Penne, which as a review I recently read mentioned was absolutely scrumptious. The eggs were creamy and the cheese sauce was just right.

For junior we decided to go for rice option and therefore took the steam rice with egg sambal, which came with an omelette dunked in a very desi tomato based sauce, finished off with spring onions. This time round we did not opt for desserts.
The entire meal came to 200 bucks a head which was really reasonable... A definite revisit is on the cards

I have two review of this place on my blog. Do check out www.onruthprabhusplate.blogspot.com

Something different -------- 3.5/5

I keep a list of 'To visit' places based on feedback from various sources and this was one of the places in the list that i needed to check off. The place has a pleasant ambience and the service was prompt and good. Coming to the food, ordered 3 dishes, an omlette, a pasta and a paratha. The omlette was quite good, soft, fluffy and tasty. I am guessing their other omlette varieties will also be equally good. The pasta was something different from the regular stuff...had ordered a Pasta Al Burj(ee), The penne pasta in a burjee base tasted nice. Finally coming to the paratha, it was a bit of a let down, not really made in the way that egg parathas are supposed to be made, this one was more like an omlette pasted onto one side of a regular maida paratha, served with a pickle accompaniment. This last dish I think can be much more improvized.

Although I had a reasonably pleasant experience, I must say that the WOW factor was missing. All the reviews here has seriously raised my expectations and I think the place fell a little short on it. On the price front, the place is not exactly an inexpensive joint. A filling meal for 2 will cost around 400-500 bucks.

The place is a good option for ppl living / working in the vicinity, but not sth that I would eagerly drive down to braving the Bangalore traffic for 15kms. If you are diehard eggie, do visit the place. You wont be disappointed, you may not be ecstatic about it though.

Great little Joint

Hi All,

Just wanted to write a review of the wonderful place, Yesterday Me and my friend visited this place for a late Lunch,

The moment you step in you will be taken by the simple yet elegant interiors. Just loved it, simple benches and chairs.

Menu is innovative, looks like a manual of a electronic goods and done in 3 different languages, Neither we nor the waiter knew which languages it was.

Another impressive thing is their Toilet, nice concept, donno how they did it, but a strange train noise comes when you open their hand wash.. Absolutely loved it..

Coming to the food, I was just fabulous, We started of with their frittatas it was great, Nice flavors.

Then came Spicy Burji, and man weren’t they Spicy,, it was good, but kinda very very spicy, guess the chef underestimated the hotness.

We then ordered some Spanish Omelet, it was nice, and finally we finished of with their new addition Combo Meals, ordered Egg Valano man it was just great, nice done curry, Perfect Paratas and good quantity of rice.

Then we ended with Cold Chocolate. IT was not good at all, it had no sugar, and this is the only thing we ended up not finishing.

I just have a few suggestions,

1. Seriously need to rethink of the way the butter is served, That packet thing refuses to peel off, especially if you dont have Finger Nails you will not be able to peal it.

2. I think the food has to be served all at once, Not like the moment food is prepared just get it to the table, My friends dish made it first all the time, and i was left wondering when will i get mine.

3. Cold Chocolate need immediate attention.

Apart from these small thing, A 4/5 rating for sure. I recommend this place to everyone.

Had a nice time @ the factory !

Finally decided to go Egg Factory after ditching Ice n Spice :D. If I’m in & around the place, I usually hit Ice and Spice. My friend wanted to try Egg Factory this time and we went there on this Sunday evening. The place was almost empty and we had lot of choice to select our seating. The décor is nice n different. The seating is not really comfortable or cozy. The cube pillows are not really of any use.
Food and Service – I would give a 5 star. The service was prompt and quick. My friend was starving but she wanted to have only the starters/snacks as it was the evening.
We ordered 3 snacks from the snack menu. Egg chilly, Egg pokoda and Anda Pappdi Chat :P All the 3 snacks were really good. Anda chat was pretty cold, may be it was supposed to be cold as this was the first time I tried an Anda chat but it was nice. Egg chilly was yum n spicy.
We also ordered the Classic French toasts which were really soft n nice but it lacked the egg flavor in it.
For dessert we ordered Tiramisu which was a perfect ending to a heavy evening snack :D

We will definitely come to this place more often as my friend wanted to try rest of the stuffs from the menu! So that would be at least another 5 to 6 visits.

Trust Me - Eggs Came Out First

This place is just egglicious . All about eggs and no more. You set to believe that everything starts from an egg hence on .. So far visited 7 times in two months . That is almost once a week , inspite of a good breakfast at home. Ambience is superb and quiet , unless the little chatters of neighbourhood tables disturb you, and it is old world . Menu - Can't pick a single one to point out which is outstanding. Give a try to each of them in stages before you set on one. Service is very quick , and presentation is indeed noticeable . It amazes me with such elaborate details. No Chicken Sausage, No Chicken Ham to complete your English breakfast , as i had initially expected . It's all about eggs. Visiting again this Friday Morning Again. Excellent Place Yogesh.

Mixed Emotions.....

After Reading the numerous reviews and getting to know the whole different concept of TEF it was in my must try list for really long, finally i had made it on March 8th (this is a really late review, but then better late than never). St. Marks road is totally new to me so i had got in touch with a certain Mr. Rajesh (hope i got his name right) in the morning itself as i had plans to visit later in the evening with a friend of mine. Though he gave me the directions i managed to get lost, and again mr. rajesh came to my rescue by giving the street by street direction to the autowalla, Tht's some help that i seriously appreciated and now realize why every1 says that TEF is hidden.

Okay coming to the food, Honestly speaking was not impressed at all, the ambience gets a full 5 on 5, I had a french toast with cream cheese and i was so disappointed to not find any cream cheese, there was just a tiny tinge of sourness, my friend had a frittata with mushroom, i had a bit and yeah that was tasty but it ends just there, I dont remember what i had to drink was some mixed fruit thing, i remember it being hot that day so i had insisted tht it be chilling, but again i was disappointed it was anything but chilled. My friend had a strawberry shake which had the same fate. This is one thing that disappointed me a lot.

Then my friend who had never tasted egg pakodas, disappointment again, the batter on the eggs was too bland and also i assume the pakodas were bought late to the table as they were not hot at all. due to the time constraint in my schedule i couldnt wait to try more, finally just had one last "Not So Cold" Coffee :P.

on the whole i was disappointed as i had reached this place with very high expectations. Surprisingly there is one thing that is going to pull me to this place once again and it's the ambience, My kudos to the owner for coming up with this unique place. i am deffinately going to return here this may again when m back in banglore and i hope this time i won't be as disappointed as in the past.

Oh and i forgot something really impt. the Menu cards !! outstanding idea !! i just loved those tiny instruction manual kinda menu, truly loved it.

Loved it

Visited this place for a late Sunday breakfast. Loved the decor, kinda industrial and nice. Went by the popular reviews and ordered the cilantro-chili frittata, never thought a dish this simple can taste so nice. A lill clueless about some yellow veggie slivers inside the frittata were though. Next came in the other fav, the bluberry preserve french toast, but wish I'd ordered this as a desert than main course :P. Nicely done and again, so freakkin simple. To get over the sweetness, ordered a burjee pasta (not sure about the name). My ears and nose did clear up post this marvel, some spicy dish that was. All this washed down with Tea and Pink Lady. Damage for 2, Rs.500. Beat that. I'm actually planning to experiment cooking these dishes at home. Amazing concept, great menu, and best part is that none of the dishes are oily, unlike the usual omelette-burjee we have outside.

Top food

Our second restaurant visited on a Burrp reference, and it was a reasonably good experience overall.

We visited the place rather late, say about 10PM (the final order was to be at 10:30PM) and were unfortunate to know that many of the dishes mentioned on the menu were not available. While the Kotthu Paratha that I ordered was available, my brother-in-law had to order three or four dishes which were not available till he settled down on the fajita. We asked for two keshtos to start, and the attendant came back to say that there was only one bun available! Neither was the Tiramisu available for dessert. The table was not clean and we had to request twice for the folks to clean it up.

And now for the good part. The food was excellent! The paratha was super, I suppose the fajita was better (my brother-in-law was quite chuffed); the coffee was good, the caramel custard (which we took instead of the Tiramisu) was excellent.

The décor was no-frills; the service was less than excellent (as I mentioned, I had to ask twice for the table to be cleaned) but was polite without fail; and the price was quite astoundingly only INR500 or so for two proper food junkies in a particularly gluttonous mood.

Would I visit again? I would! And as you read the review, you would think it is a review fit for three stars, but I will rate it at four. The food was really top class.

Not a place I would recommend

Four of us friends decided to visit Egg Factory after a play last Friday. The play was excellent and we wanted to round off the complete Friday experience with a great meal.
The Egg Factory was a unanimous (well..kind of) decision as all of us had heard great things about the place.
However that was not to be.
We ordered Egg burji,Egg Vindaloo,Egg Sambal as well as another dish the name of which I forget now.The food was a complete let-down.Strangely enough besides the egg burji all the other dishes tasted sweet!!! This was true of the "spicy" egg vindaloo as well.It was almost as though the chef had decided to liven things up by adding sugar instead of salt to the dishes!!
Needless to say we were completely disappointed.
The Egg Factory is not a place I would be going back to in a long long time.

Ande ka Awesome funda

It blew me away on my first visit. And even after umpteen visits , I still look forward to a visit. This industrial themed restaurant has got everything right, the music, the seating, even the loo. The food just does not taste great, it looks good too. The coffee would give Barista the run for its money. I pray, that they continue serving us egg lovers the way they do, and that they add new dishes from every nook and corner of the World.

The only thing that I miss here, are sausages to go along with eggs. :)

Keep kicking ass Egg Factory !

Pleasantly Different!

We always end up at this place post a few drinks to crab some grub. Initially we thought this place would be a place with the usual cliched-egg dishes. But to our surprise, their menu is quite innovative ! I like the make-it-yourself burritos ...(forget the exact name). Will keep going to this place...but hope they come up new items on their menu to keep us from getting bored!

Eggciting Times !

To start with the ambiance of Egg Factory was very innovative especially the loo which was so different..but i wonder who would like a mirror right in front of the shit pot ???
Like the idea of black board so that one scribble some stuff...i was also impressed with the acronym explained near the dining area..which was amusing.
Ok coming to the Food..it was a very different and nice experience..we ordered for a Egg Florentine, Desi Penne Pasta, Cilantro Chilly Fratita and French Toast with Cream and Blueberry preserve. While it was served with some garlic bread and salt an pepper..I would STRONGLY RECOMMEND the Egg factory to also offer oregano seasoning and chilli flakes with some herb which will add that extra zing in the flavoring..Desi Penne Pasta and Egg Florentine was really nice and cheesy.
French Toast with cream and blueberry preserve was soft and I personally found it more like a soft sweet dish. Cilantro Chilly Fraaita was just a over rated omelet nothing more. Its a great place for breakfast and that what we will come in for the next time which we surely will go for

Eggs are good.

I follow the show "Highway on my plate" on NDTV GT religiously. One of their trips to Bangalore, they showed this place and I went there the very next week.

Small cozy place. Quite a bit of variety I must admit. However, rather than serving plain omelettes with bread, could you serve with some beans / fries? Makes it look good and taste too.

What I dint like much were the Paratha's / Roti's that were served part of combo meals, were just already prepared and just heated up and served. The curry too I felt was done that way. Microwave heating is good for home food, but not for restaurant food.

Otherwise, true value for money. Please also arrange for parking. I did 3 rounds before I could park in a corner of some building and always had my car in my mind.

EGGcellent FOOD!

Good place, Good Ambience, "Good FOOD" decent price as well. Three of us tried almost evrything in the menu including LIME juice and Caramel Custard! in the EGG menu: we tried cheese omlette, fortittas, bun masala, anda paratha, penne pasta! alllll of which was good, the PASTA was the out and out winner. Rest of the food was also served well. Best part was the service, needn't wait long that too on a weekend. came around 300/- per head since we tried almost everything and had stomach fulll.. but worth! CHeeers to EGGS :)

Better ambience would make wonders!

I was refreed to this place by a collegue so was here last saturday! Food was great and I would certainly call it value for money! Service guys too were sweet but the place lacked maintainance. The menu cards were dirty and had a poor print. The seating too is not so comfortable which actually discourages you to hang out there for more than a while.

Nevertheless great place for egg lovers for a quicky!

Eggs you to go meat-free

A year ago,on a flying visit, the first dishes I tasted here were Spanish omelette (a subtle counterpoint to the fiesta I was expecting), Egg Chilli (obliged to order this common starter which managed to be above average),and Classic French toast with maple syrup (suited more for Continental kids than for Indian adults).
This month, I re-visited this place with more adventurous companions.
Ambience - Compact room. Black ceiling punctuated by spotlights .Brick-covered floor. Wooden tables and cushioned foldable metal chairs -all approximating a fashionable canteen of an upmarket college.

The variety on offer is commendable. From categories like Eggxotica, Eggxpectations & Eggxilarative snacks, we chose the following- Penne Alfredo - Eggs beaten (in a nice way) into the mix with a creamy sauce, performed the tango with a cilantro pesto's herbal twinkle of contrast. The Penne Pasta possessed an agreeable texture. Menage a trois- While not amounting to a riotous orgy, it had its share of caresses. The 3 pepper sauce seemed a transplant from a paneer butter masala .But the omelette envelopes- in the shape of calzones having pockets of brunoised capsicum mushrooms and carrots- were pillowy soft affairs that lifted the dish.
Drinks break- Cucumber Cooler performed its eponymous task with neat fizz, while Chorophyll fix (listed as basil+mint+etc+soda) refreshingly undercut the richness of the food.

Focusing "egg"-ain on the food - Huevos a la Mexicana- Fried eggs were spread over soft corn tortillas and accessorized with the pleasing flavours of a gentle tomato salsa, cheddar cheese sauce and a dab of coleslaw. Well seasoned, this dish strummed a gently jaunty tongue-catching rhythm. Akoori- Scrambled eggs Parsi-style were curried with onion tomato spices and herbs to form a slick delectably balanced concoction, especially enjoyable when consumed with buttered toast. Anda paapdi chaat-Crunchy discs of fried wheat-flour had been topped with a smoothly delicious blend of egg-potato-cilantro & sprinkled with vibrant red drops of tomato sauce - all this quickly disappeared!

Service was mediocre. A mid-meal or end-lunch table may end up resembling a royally messy chicken-coop yet Egg Factory waiters take it in their supremely tolerant stride and clean it only when the mood strikes. But they will help you to make choices from the menu. Desserts- The pick of the lot- Choco Sin- A compact cylinder of cream, mousse and biscuit, this yielded a gratifying hit of rich chocolate intensifying in soft mouthfuls. Average cost of a dish may be pegged at Rs.90 here- the snacks have a lower price while Italian dishes go upto Rs.130. We felt that this was a true VFM joint.
With an efficiently executed niche concept, this restaurant offsets the risk of putting all its eggs in one basket by juggling them with a variety of tasty tricks. This Factory's products rise a cut above the assembly-line offerings.

Good Place for Weekend Brunch

I have visited Egg Factory more than a few times and always for breakfast/brunch. They have a wide wide variety of egg-based dishes like omellettes, frittatas, scrambled etc. and I have aleways found the food to be fresh and yummy. I just wish they extended the variety to include meat - like ham and sausages. They serve only eggetarian. I have not tried their non-beakfast items, though they have a lot of options like pasta/curry etc. Quirky twists to the menu include Parsi items (akoori) and Manipal Canteen items which I found interesting. Overall, a good option for a lazy weekend brunch with friends.

Could have been better

From the day reviews start poring abt Egg Factory I was keen to visit this place..and finally after 1 year I made it with my mother and my hubby to this cozy looking eatery..
Good Interiors..we being architects loved the simplicity and the Innovative ideas..Thrilled by the Washroom concept..

Now comes the food part..No body turned up to take our order,,,thought it was self service..had to walk up to the billing desk n chk abt it..we ordered Napoleon Tomato Pasta,Basil Pasta and Mushroom pasta..
Tomato pasta was too spicy and the Mushroom pasta cheese was not properly cooked and melted..The only good thing was the Basil pasta..
had to walk up again to the desk for ketchup n water..
Even the smoothie ordered had no almonds but purely tasted like a banana shake..

I had high hopes but :(

Pleasant place

I spent a few hours reading and doing some work at the Egg Factory. It was very pleasant - it was morning so not too crowded and on request the staff changed the music. One common problem in many places is that the music can be quite annoying - often too loud and inappropriate. It was nice when the windows were open but when the place filled up with the lunch crowd they wanted to shut the windows and turn on the AC - which made things louder. Anyway, all in all it was a pleasant experience - coffee was okay and of course its pretty hard to screw up eggs so they were quite good. One way this place can improve is by having free wi-fi.

a quaint lil egg place!

I had been here with a friend on a Friday night. It was just the kind of quaint place we were looking for! The fact that we are egg-lovers only helped.
The industrial design theme flows from the name to the interiors to the menu card. Yet, it is warm and relaxed.
Egg recipes from different cuisines have been chosen to create a fusion menu. The eggs are well made, esp the soft-boiled eggs used in some recipes. We ended up filling ourselves to the brim with various egg based foods and it was very light on the wallet. We would love to get back there for a quiet Sunday brunch someday!
One thing missing from the menu was 'poached eggs'! How could they miss it?!?!
Surprisingly, only one other table was occupied at that time. Maybe it is not exactly thought of as a dinner place. Although it is a good thing that it is tucked away in a small cross street of St.Mark's road, insulating it from the noise, it may work against the restaurant in terms of footfall. I think the place definitely deserves much more footfalls!
But am glad, some of us are serendipitous in discovering it :)

I have been there several times and the service and food quality are spot on. I guess its one of those few places in bangalore where the adage "customer is king" truly holds. Chilli omelet, iced tea, Desi Penne Pasta, blueberry toast and masala egg burji are my favorites. Never thought there could be so many varieties that can be prepared with egg. The extensive menu should be Eggpedia. The establishment is always spotlessly clean esp the rest rooms. Way to go guys. Wonderful stuff. You truly deserve credit for your effort

The best thing about The Egg Factory is its ambiance. I've never visited an eatery that put me more at ease. The menu card/diner's manual was hilarious, omlettes and frittatas delicious (although I'd like the roast chilli frittata spicier) and the mango cheesecake a great end to the meal. Music was lovely..never heard Steely Dan (Do it again - instrumental) being played elsewhere. Definitely going back..and this time I'm trying the smoothies.

Eggasm!

Of course; who wouldn't start with an Egg induced pun in the title :) Well, as much as the name of the place is a punner's deliting (as evidenced by reviews before this!) the place itself, is eggasmic!

Enough and more has been said about the food and there's nothing more for me to add. Amazing array of egg based dishes; creative, inane, run-off-the-mill, unusual, cult...are available here. Truly a breakfasters delight.

The only jarring note in the egg symphony was the slightly dingy feel we got when we went in. It did not reflect in the food or the cutlery; but one does get a feel that the place is up for a spruce up!

Absolutely 'Egg'cellent...

We have been to 'The Egg Factory' numerous times and we were delighted everytime. Keep up the good work Yogesh !!

Today I took 4 of our friends there and had toomany items to list here. But I will mention the items that have fabulous taste.

+ves :
French Toast - Blueberry (with Maple Syrup) :: Heavenly taste - must have
Desi Penne Pasta - Egg :: Best Indian pasta I had in recent past.
4 Chilli Omelette :: Spicy & Excellent
Masala Egg Burji :: Spicy & best egg burji I had till now
Frittata - Chilly Cilantro :: Good
Spanish Omelette :: Good
Irish Omelette :: Good
Caramel Custard :: Good
Hawaiian Drink :: Good

-ves:
When we went there (Friday night), only one person was managing all things - taking orders, serving, cleaning tables. So it took a while before we got his attention to place the order 2nd round. There was no one to enquire us if we like to order anything else after we finished 1st round. Also, the person seemed a bit disinterested (no smile) may be because he is overloaded or having a bad day. Hope it's a one-off issue and 'Yogesh' will take care of it.

Humpty Dumpty minus the great fall

Having grown up in Gujarat (which is a predominantly veg state with egg being the closest that it gets to non-veg served on roadside stalls) I have a fair idea of the different dishes that can be prepared using stuff hidden in an ovoid shell. But the egg factory taught me that it's not just gujarat but places around the world that suck the life out of an egg (no pun intended) through the myriad preparations in which its used. If you are an egg fan this is definitely the place to be. Decent service though the menu is a little confusing. Best bet is to ask the waiter, who if in the mood, might help you pick a choice that you might end up liking. Try it out, if only just to ogle at the menu, is my suggestion. Cheers!

Good - can improve

Went for breakfast. Good food, clean place, though I wish the staff would smile a lil' more :-)

Went early morning for a working breakfast and had omlettes and frittatas. Made well and served piping hot -- just the way I like my omlette.

My grouses:
1. The coffee needs to be improved -- why not explore tying up with MTR next door instead of serving us machine coffee? :-)

2. Please add hash browns or baked beans as extras, giving customers an option of ordering these to go with their omlettes

3. The bread slices are too small for an omlette/frittata. I don't know the cost implications, but why don't you consider giving larger slices of bread, so that we do not have to unnecessarily order another plate of toast (2 slices) when all we want is a single slice extra

4. Would be good to get saunf or similar mouth freshner at the end -- especially for early morning breakfast customers.

Overall great place, and I will definitely visit again.

Yummylicious each time

I have been to this place about 3 times and the quality is the same. I am in love with the food here. However if the food is a little "more warm" against "just tepid" it would be more glorious. This is one of the places that is quiet active on twitter as well. Kudos to that. Please keep it up.
Few serious suggestions-
1. Hire more "interested" people. Few of the current employees are just not bothered.
2. Teach them about the menu. An informed steward is of a great help. He can ensure repeat business as well.
3. Drinks menu needs to be broadened owing to summers as eggs are anyway hot.
4. Menu is cluttered. Please organize it well.
5. We would love to see some Indian masala stuff. Like Masala boiled eggs with pav and the like.

Rest I love the flavours.
Will come back soon.

Cheers

A very nice place!

I had been there couple of days ago.... the place is very creatively decorated. There is a good variety on the menu. We ordered a Fritatta and egg curry combo. Both the dishes were a savoury and I enjoyed till the last tiny bit on my plate. Will visit again to try out the French Toast.

The egg came first…

There is an element of fun about this place!! Had lunch with a few friends and had a blast of a time. The menu card ( or manual ) is something that amused me to no end!! Egg factory is a unique place that will amuse you, relax you and feed at a reasonable price.

spectacular

reasons to go:
- the awesome concept
- the 3 ingredient omelet with pepper sauce
- the mexican rice on poached eggs
reasons not to go:
- you don't like eggs
- you like eggs but are clinically insane..

everything is priced around 100/-
wish they served the egg snacks all day.

Eggciting New Menu!

I have been to The Egg Factory many times and it has never failed to impress me! Every time I go there, I fall in love with their food! Again and yet again!!!
The Smoothies, Frittatas, Sandwich, Pastas, Curry Combos and the Desserts have been liked not just by me but the friends who’ve accompanied me as well.

It was quite a while since I treated myself here and I could not wait any longer! My colleague and I walked up to TEF. Thank God, it isn’t very far from my office. We reached before 1PM and it wasn’t too crowded by then. The black board there displayed lots of new additions and most of it was curries. My colleague started looking at the manual alike menu and the waiter handed over a menu. Voila! This was a all new menu exclusively for Pasta. You would also notice a small menu on the table which displays an array of new drinks and desserts. My colleague and I who’ve become slightly health conscious off late, opted for What’s Up Doc and Cool Cucumber respectively. The former is made with carrot and watermelon where as the latter is cucumber juice mixed with soda. Both were fresh and there was a huge relief as it cooled us down after a walk in the hot sun during the noon.

For main course, my colleague wanted custom made Frittata – it had mushroom, spinach, onion and loads of other things. He wanted Brown / Multi-grain bread along with it and not the regular one. The waiters were courteous enough to immediately replace the same. Also, he wanted his frittata only with egg white and NO yolk in it. This was taken care as well.
Mine was the Tasty Tomato Pasta. I was badly attracted towards the Mushroom Pasta with Cheese listed below this. But, my diet had a better influence on me that day than the temptation. But, no regrets! My Tasty Tomato Pasta was the best. It tasted extremely delicious. The accompaniment was the crispy Garlic Bread
The pasta was so filling and delicious, there was nothing more required for me. If you are planning to come alone and are confused as to what to order, just don’t worry. Pick anything from the list and that will just fill your stomach. That’s what happened to me! The Pasta was so filling, the quantity was perfect for my appetite.

My colleague wanted an omelet after the frittata. This was again customized with quite a few things he wanted in it with the caramelized onions on the top. This time again, it was egg whites only and brown bread as the accompaniment for him.

Last time, I had tried Zabaglione, a dessert made using eggs. It was one of its kind for me and was loved by all my companions. But, I guess its not available any more :( It was in a way good for me as I would have drooled and binged into this dessert otherwise. If there’s an option, I would still love to relish it during my non-dieting days.

Overall, the new menu combined with the old menu has been totally impressing. The service continues to be impeccable and courteous as ever. The food is always made fresh and served. A meal for 2 would approximately cost Rs.500+

An apt place to enjoy food – be it breakfast, lunch, evening snacks or dinner!!

FOOD vs CHICKTIONARY which one's better?

(4.5 ) really!!Wow !! could not decide which was better...the food or their play on words ...The chicktionary is simply great..so are the chicken feet on the walls...
the decor is simple, practical and easy....The only complaint is the volume for the music.. the speakers jets out of a pipe...looks like a giant smoke pipe..and its loud for the table for 2/3 right at the entrance... it must have been ok or the rest of the tables..dunno.
Food: Coffee?(regular black) what is that brand where do you get it from?..
It could have been stronger but thats the best i have had so far..
Ordered Bull's eye and and frittata..both were great....The Bull eye was runny just the way it was supposed to be. The bread was toasted perfectly and the jam too was great...
A few dishes you could add or I could not find on the menu
Egg benedict
Deviled eggs..
Overall a great experience .. the food, menu, the ambience , the service.....keep it up guys

EGGciting!!!!!!

This place was unknown to me until i was brought here by a very close companion. She too hadnt eaten here ,so we wondered if this place would actually be too our liking.N we found out tat it certainly was.I hav never been a huge fan of eggs but the dishes i had dere turned out to be absolutely amazing n not wit an overwhelming flavour of eggs.U have to try out the musty mushroom.A gr8 dish (mouths watering talking abt this dish)!!!!!Also the garlic bread which comes with many a dish is lip smacking....The lemon juice will be a good drink to have along with this food. The waiters provide a friendly atmosphere and it is a nicely laid out place in a good location.Go try it, will leave u EGGstatic!!!!!!

Fantastic food, but watch the overeating!!!

I have been to this 3-4 times and always swear not to come back for a long time.

Not because the food is bad, or its too expensive or its poor service... But because every time I have a bad experience of over eating.

I know it is not the restaurant's fault if I do not judge my craving and over-order. However, I think the management can train their waitiing staff to educate / recommend to customers the portion sizes and this way people know what to order and where to draw the line.

I just went this weekend and had some amazing food, but in the end I felt like I did not want to think abt eggs for weeks. This happened after eating one plate of kuthu parotta which was so heavy (and I wouldnt have known.. so cant be blamed for overordering as I ordered just one more dish)

Anyways, food wise I dont have to write much.... as all reviews have raved about it. they make sure attention is given to every dish. Even the cucumber drink I ordered was so perfect. Good... because if you cant get a thing right it doesnt derve to be on your menu

Excellend place for Eggiest person

Being a Huge Huge fan of Egg , i was suggested this place by a friend.
I had Spicy egg burji,(Scrambled egg with Onion/spices) server with bread, butter and Jam. Must say, the good burji I could have recalled in my recent food history. later i ordered malabar curry combo Servedwith 2 small parathas, rice , Boiled eggs in groundnut gravy, pickles. The Curry was yum. Also ordered Cucumber Juice thingi which was so so.. love the ambience of this place. It looks like one of those European cafes and have lots of witty writings on the wall. Their menu is quite exhausting with various delicious-sounding egg items.

The experience we had was great. It is like a nice little place that has spent 100% of its effort on the quality of the food. Highly recommended and we will re-visit.

Unique options- worth a visit!

This is a place to try. It's so unique and quirky. I thought the menu was very clever and full of intriguing options. For those less adventurous you will find something to satisfy your palate.

My husband's french toast was light and fluffy and delicious. I followed our waiter's recommendation and tried the Classic Spaghetti. I was expecting a red sauce but it was even better as served simply with garlic and olive oil for a really nice and surprisingly good dish. We liked both of our entrees so much we decided to order a third. When meals are about Rs. 60-100 each we didn't feel guilty. The Mu Shu Rao was a little light on the flavor- I would have liked more spice but it was also good. Who knew you could do so much with an egg!?!?!

Would it not be possible to upload your menu here? Under the menu "tab"? Maybe not an elaborate one but just the dish names and probably even the prices. I have been to your place a long time back! So was interested in looking at (new?) menu.

Anyway, see you again this Saturday!!

P.S:- Guys, sorry to be rating the place without visiting it.
It won't allow me to post this comment without putting in a rating. As this is the only way (i think) I can contact the restaurant owner and can request for a menu, i am just rating it... with the present average rating i.e. 4!

Bliss in the morning

I won't gild the lily and add to the praise that's been heaped on The Egg Factory in the last 41 reviews. It really is as good as they say it is.

Go here in the morning, order your favorite style(s) of eggs with a glass of that wonderful Berry Blast, put your feet up and feel a sense of peace and wellbeing that's rare to come by in Bangalore these days.

I've never been here post noon, but I'm willing to bet they're still as good through the rest of the day. But those mornings, I tell ya....

Simply wonderful

I didn't want to use any of the almost cliched expressions of 'eggcellent' or 'eggstrordinary' in the title 'coz I'd be using a lot of it in the body of the review :) As the previous two reviewers have mentioned, this place is just amazing and needs to be visited. Tucked away in a small lane opposite the head office of SBI on St Marks road in a building called white house, this place has an almost rustic appearance to it, but the comfort levels inside are, well, very comfortable. The ambiance is fantastic, and the food is wonderful at very affordable prices, and the service is quick with no hassles. They also make the egg dishes without the yolk upon request.

The owner, Mr Yogesh, had a chat with us during our lunch (he was tucking away too on an adjacent table) about the idea and his plans. We started off with the tomato & mozzarella crostinis and a mushroom pepper crostini, before moving onto omelettes: an Irish omelette, a Spanish omelette and a broccoli & mushroom omelette (yes, there were 3 of us). All the dishes were excellent, and really, if you screw up an egg, you shan't last long in the restaurant business.

Since we were trying to sample one from each section (we almost succeeded, missed one section), we then had a garden frittata, 2 rice-curry combos (spicy onion egg curry and a son-in-law curry, which was golden boiled egg with tamarind and roasted peanut sauce) and a 6 inch egg & mushroom sub. The use of tamarind in the son-in-law curry was a little aggressive, but not to the point where you wouldn't wanna continue eating. Nonetheless, it was a nice dish if you like the spicy and tangy kind of food. My only regret was I couldn't try the pasta, which I wanted to since there was a line in the menu that said they serve Italian pasta at Indian prices. But what the hell, there's certainly going to be a next time for me here.

For dessert, we had a "poor knights of Windsor" (bread stuffed with raisins, fried in butter and jaggery with cherries on top) and a caramel custard. The Windsor was very nice, served sizzling on a plate, while the caramel custard was, normal, nothing great. So all in all, it was great, fantastic, eggcellent, eggstrordinary, eggstremely gratifying, and yes, it was tasty too. Credit Cards aren't accepted at the moment, coz from Mr Yogesh told us, the guys who issue these have become strict and expect the business to have stayed open for at least 6 months before they issue the machine to swipe, so for the moment, cash rules, although they do accept Sodexho food coupons. And did I mention this place is affordable? Well, the bill after everything we ate, including a coffe and an orange juice, came up to Rs 780 only!!! Usually, at most places, the bill is never short of a 1000, and invariably around the 1500 mark, and so, like I said, this place rocks on all counts.

One great place for breakfast!!!

Last Sunday (Feb 28th), my wife, daughters and myself, after having spent a wonderful morning strolling in the Cubbon Park decided to hog out for breakfast. Having heard of Egg Factory from some of our friends, we decided to drop in at the restaurant.

Our first impression of the restaurant was that the wall colors were too contrasting (yellow, red & black) after being surrounded by so much greenery a few moments ago. However, the ambience was quiet and one could hear the birds chirping outside. The seating was really comfortable and I could have done with a book for added affect!

We ordered Eggs Florentine, Garden Friattata, Cheese Omelletes, and a host of juices. The Chef needs to be given the ULTIMATE AWARD in cooking... The eggs were just MARVELLOUS! Almost as good as my wife makes them (hope she's reading this)!!! Literally melted into the mouth and the portions served were just right.

The service was also very warm, though we had to keep repeating our order to the waitor, now and then, while he took it down. But his nice mannerisms covered this up.

Overall, a wonderful experience...warm, friendly and mouth watering.

Yummy Stuff

I wanted to visit this place for long time and happen to go there yday. We thought we would eat at Ice and Spice but, when I saw Egg Factory I told my hubby that we should try it out.

We ordered frittata with garlic bread and fajitas eggs with tortia, sour cream and veggies and morning burst.. that's a banana+orange+yogurt+milk.. was yummy :) I enjoyed the dishes but, just felt that they were a lil over priced as compared to Ice n Spice and the ambiance they have.. otherwise good experience!

Eggstatic Experience!

There is something about the place that makes you feel very nice as soon as you enter it. There is no doubt that most of the food items are egg based as the name of the place suggests, but yes when they are presented in a nice ambience with prompt service, good flavors and variety you sometimes feel that egg have never tasted so better before. Also, you can step into the place anytime before closure at night and you will find many items of your interest.
Parking can be a problem there on weekends but if you are lucky then the security guard at the basement can help you out with that :)
Overall its a very unique and a wonderful experience!

Awesome food, concept & ambiance .. So so service

I had heard about this place from friends, and we decided to make a visit for breakfast. The place is easily accessible on St. Marks Road. The decor and ambiance was simple and relaxing. No one seemed to be in a hurry and it was a place where one could go to just 'chill'.

Food was simple - but very tasty! Kudos to the cook. The menu card was really innovative. I was amazed by the variety of only 'egg dishes' - great idea!

Now the service -- we had to 'ask' for silverware, paper napkins, water. Besides, the waiter forgot my orange juice. Not such a big deal -- as it is a relaxing place anyways. No complaints. But then if the service was good -- I would have added another star.

After having heard so much about it, we finally made it to Egg factory.. My first impressions were - wow this is different! I loved the way the menu cards are like manuals :) The ambiance is very relaxing.. (could've done with some better chairs though) The food was pretty good too - we ordered the much spoken about garden frittata and the egg fajitas. Should try some pastas next time. I kept eyeing the ones the waiter got on the next table :) Service was prompt and courteous and the bill quite easy on the wallet! I'd return here for sure!!

Good Place - should introduce non-veg though

good place for ovo-vegetarians. have a range of egg based dishes - the nomal omelette stuff, biryani, paratha, pastas etc. have been a few times - the standard egg items are good - the pastas, biryani etc. are avoidable - very average fare with eggs thrown in. Overall a decent alternative to your coffee day if you are in the area.

Clever, Tasty, Satisfying

When burrp admins pointed this place out as an example of restaurant owners embracing the true power of the review system here, I decided to check it out for myself. I believe that when a business takes the time to actively listen to its customers, the result is almost always a good one. This is no exception. The décor was unique. The menus were clever. The food was very good. I had the Southwest Frittata and my companions had the Egg Biriyani. We all enjoyed our meals and I definitely plan on visiting again. I also agree with desifoodie, the pasta looked really good and I intend to give that a try next time.

As a side note, bring a camera with you. The derelict house across the street makes for a very cool picture...

Wonder why it took so long!

Yes, that is exactly what I have been thinkin since I came from there. Why has it taken so long for anybody to come out with this concept? It seems simple on the face of it - a restaurant based on anything you can do with eggs

After there is so much you can do with it, right? After having heard so much about it, we finally made it to Egg factory

I think almost everything about the place is "hatke". The menu is like a - some type of manual, and I find that rib-tickling and a nice way to relax you

The ambiance too is very relaxing. The place is a bit like in a blind alley though and you will not find it very easily on this busy road. The cahirs also are not very comfortable.

We ordered the garden frittata and the egg fajitas. These were recommended to us by the waiting staff. I made a mental note to try the pasta.

Service was very courteous

ANd best of all, I spent less than 400 bucks. Cant beat that, you know :-)

Nice place, service needs improvement.

I love eggs and i was really happy when my friend informed my about this place about 1 1/2 - 2 years ago. I don't remember the number of times i have eaten here since then. I have tried almost everything on the menu and loved everything except for a Mexican rice dish. On top of my list is the Parsi egg preparation they serve. The dishes are rightly priced. It is a great place for a college kid to impress a girl without spending a mini fortune. I love the cozy ambiance.

There are a couple of things i don't particularly like about this place.
1. The service is slack. Almost every time i've been here i've had to repeatedly ask the waiters to serve water or ask for silverware. They are not attentive.
2. I don't like the coffee they serve. I wish they served better coffee.

This is one of the very few restaurants i consider a safe bet when i can't decide where to eat.

Super concept!

I was referred to this place by a friend who said that she'd had some fabulous food here - and she wasn't exaggerating! Some of the stuff on the menu was really novel. The Egg Factory took some tried-and-tested recipes (for example: pasta) and conjured up several interesting egg variants.

Yogesh, the proprietor was very friendly and more that willing to explain the concept since it was my first time there. The music (slow lounge, nu-jazz) was the perfect accompaniment to a rain-drenched Bangalore afternoon. Between the two of us who went there, we put away some Masala Pav from the section of the menu dedicated to Manipal. I couldn't resist ordering the Akoorie to see if they could get it right; the Parsi way - and they outdid themselves. All this accompanied with the egg crostini and some fruit punch made the afternoon worthwhile.

I plan to hit this spot over the weekend again to try out some Ceylon Egg Curry and try some of the dessert. Good job with the place Yogesh!

Eggxtraordinary

Who would have thought that a simple ingredient like Eggs could be so versatile and someone Eggccentric enough to use this to base a whole business on.

The Egg Factory- An all day diner was a revelation. Came across this quaint place by accident. Had a lunch time appointment with my doctor who practices in the same building as this restaurant. As is wont the doctor was running behind schedule and decided to catch lunch. I had seen this place while on my way up to the doctors and decided to go there.

The interiors are very earthy- brick flooring, wooden tables and those folding steel chairs which seem to be out of fashion.

The menu was presented and lo and behold the world of Eggs opened up. There were many many omlettes , Frittatas( apparently Italian Omlettes), Submarine Rolls, French toasts, Curries offered as combo with either rice or pav, pastas etc etc.

I could not decide what to order and was suggested that I order a Eggs in Spicy onion sauce. The curry was served with plain steamed rice, a small helping of a salad and a papad. Absolutely fresh flavours, non oily curry with steaming hot rice. Relished every bit of it. Was full but was still intrigued by the concept and a second round of ordering happened. I ordered for a Mexican scramble Sub. The Sub arrived . It was just the right blend of soft sub roll and a full bodied flavour of mexican scrambled egg with crunchy spicy jalapenoes, tomatoes and onions. Enjoyed every bit of it.

Though there were many items on the menu that sounded interesting there was no way I could eat anything else.

I will definitely be back soon.

Till then "good luck to the Eggxperts".

Awesome Egg-sperience !!

THE DESTINATION for egg lovers....
Excellent food and kudos to the owner for doing the place so thoughtfully... gives you a factory kind of a look..
Its always best to go with at least 4-5 members as you can try out more than 2 varieties per person.. I've been there 4 times and already covered close to 80% of the menu..
Must try Egg Florentine, Egg Canneloni, Arroz Con Huevos, the 3 cheese omlette and Cilantro chilly frittata... unfortunately they don't have any baked Frittatas..(which should be included)
The service is quick, the staff is very courteous and a group of 5-6 can wrap the bill under Rs.800 - 1000 :)
In a nutshell, a great place for egg eaters and a must go for those who haven't been here..

Great eggs!

Love this place. Have been to The Egg Factory about 5-6 times. The place has a lot of soul. A cool chilled out place with spartan interiors. Its the simplicity of the place that I love. Its one of those places where you could go alone and sit with a book and not realize how time passed. Not to miss are the Fritattas and the Spanish Omelettes. They used to have this other dish called the "Son-in-law eggs" which was deep fried boiled eggs in groundnut gravy served with White rice. Really sinful. Really yummy! Its been discontinued now. Wonder why...Please bring it back!

On the downside, parking is a bit of a problem. I usually have to park near Airlines hotel. But I guess the management cant do much about that.

All in all...a great Sunday place :)

The Egg Therapy!

We friends finally made it after one of our friend had been insisting of visiting this place from a couple of weeks after he had checked out the review here on burrp.
The place was really upto the expectation.
Very different ambience.Even before you enter the restaurant, not sure how many had checked out the innovative idea of one liners by chalk on the walls.
Inside, its a different look and feel of a factory ;)
Even the TV was drawn in chalk ;) which is in a way good not distracting us when we are involved in talking with friends.
The service was pretty good and the food was excellent.
We tried egg chilli, egg papdi chat, bread masala, spinach omlette and pink lady smoothie. All had their unique taste.
Innovative menu,speakers etc.
Dont miss visiting the loo which has different hadles from men and women for the same door, very interesting, and pipes inside remind me of the chemistry lab burette :P.
Very different try and all is worth visiting it again and again.

Wanna give it a try!!!

Well finally a place in bangalore which can offer me my favorite dishes from Manipal... Have been searching in vain for so many years for the Mota Special, the egg cheese maggi, egg bun masala and bread masala to appear in the menu cards of restaurants in Bangalore... Having lived in Manipal for almost 6 years (4 in MIT and 2 IN TAPMI) these dishes had become a part of my staple diet.. , will visit this restaurant in the near future...

They will have a tough task ahead of them since the Kamaths's and presscarts have set pretty high benchmarks..

Good but Pricey(?)

I am a foodie, and try new restaurants. Once I have my pick, i take along my family and once they are happy, we do frequent for any occasion. Having tried many preparations, TEF has a unique taste, a low spice Mediterranean flavour to its dishes. I am not sure if i am right, but this is what i felt after my taste experiences during travel to the west and east.

On suggestion could be, they can try small helpings for single visitor. You can imagine eating a dish of egg masala with 2 rotis and rice. The number of eggs and a billing of around 150 is too much for one time meal for single person, but perfect for 2 people.

Egglicious!

I never could imagine a Pasta with egg tasting so yum! Desi Penne pasta rocks!

BTW I am a Manipal Alumini too (MIT). Nice to see a Manipal connection here. I would like to meet the Manipal'ite the next time. And yeh.. Bun Masala is superb!

One thing missing in the Manipal connection is Egg Maggi ;) which we as students make in our hostel rooms in Manipal.

Anyways.. all together an affordable and delicious food joint!

$$Must Eggsperience$$

Far away from the noise of bustling blore is located The Egg factory.... the homely interiors of this place is very inviting and quiet and calm atmosphere of here will just not want you to move ur ass out of here.......
Finally 1 place i found in blore where u get good stuffed omelletes.... Its yummy..
To Mr.Pai & Mr.Mokshi... you must look into developing the place to offer a full fledged english bfast... it would be really nice to have some sausages, hash brown, stuffed tomatoes & freshly queezed juice along with your omelette. it would really make a difference
Did not enjoy the coffee though... Not that tasty......
However loved the options from manipal... infact the whole ambeince reminds me of Dollops in manipal ( Frosty bite)
gR8 JOB GUYS!!! kEep it up!

Great place for lunch!

I knew about the egg factory for the longest time but ever time i made a plan something came up. I went there for lunch this afternoon and I came out wishing I had done this a long time back. If I had to describe it in one word it would be 'cute'. Being a die hard meat fan, I didnt seem to miss the absence of it. Great prices, good portions and I particularly like the presentation of each dish. The service is pretty quick which is really important if your making it a working lunch.

My office is a stone's throw away, will defnitly be visiting more often :)

Good Theme and very well excuted

So i came across egg factory via Burrp! and thought of giving it a try for Brunch on a lasy Saturday. It is a very pleasant place with a decent ambience. A lot of natural light, comfortable seating and plus the location is also very prime. And then the most striking thing about the place is the menu card, loved the concept and the way it had been excuted, very creative indeed. And it didnt stop there as well, the food was very creative as well. The way they had experimented with eggs and used them in various dishes was a really exceptional. I loved the egg sambhar, a preparation of egg, rice and tomato curry. The omlette and the fritatas were also very good. Their bluberry french toast with fantastic to say the least. And i ended up going to the egg factory atleast 3-4 times after that. A good experience, not so heavy on your wallet. A must try for every egg lover.

Epitome of Eggstasy!

In 3 days, I made 2 visits to TEF willingly! This says it all!
I wanted to go there so badly after my first visit I was just trying to find a reason :)
Too many good reviews on burrp! and a few recommendations, landed us (1st time) at the much obvious TEF. They had “True Weekend Breakfast All Day Long” from 24th – 26th which had a special menu, fairly different from the usual weekday menu! This is in the lane next to Dewar’s Wine Stores on the St.Marks road. As we entered, we hardly found any crowd in the restaurant. It could be coz’ we were there by around 6:45PM in the evening. The door has a spanner as its handle, dining hall - dim lit with and the walls with red and off white paint and the glass wall towards the road. This one had the paint mark of leg prints of the hen. Next to the door, one would find a huge pipe at the end of which a speaker is fixed which was continuously blowing some amazing English numbers. This enhanced the factory kinda setting with the speakers hidden in the sirens. No false roofing, totally painted black with the lights hanging from top. They’ve made sure the A/Cs are black in color too! The rustic floor adds to the theme! Dining area which can accommodate around 40 people has wooden tables with long wooden bench on one side and foldable metal chairs with cushion on the other side. The third wall is damp with a board, “DAMP WALL. PLEASE DO NOT LEAN”. Later realized, it’s been purposely left that way to make it look more natural.

As we entered, the courteous waiter came to us and explained us on the new menu designed for the Republic Day Weekend. After a thorough scan of the menu, we ordered Pink Lady – a smoothie made of banana, cherry, almonds and yogurt. Tasted different and I alone sipped it till the last drop. The southwestern frittata was a huge hit. This actually made me fall in love with eggs and has turned me into a eggatarian :)
I had never liked egg so much in my life before. Used to prefer it in cakes and pastries but, never directly like this!!

After thoroughly satisfied with the frittata, we ordered ultimate veggies omelet. This scored good, but, my favorite still remains the frittata.

It was the desserts turn to impress us! Going by fiddlesticks recommendation, we ordered Poor Knights of Windsor! This one made out of bread, is an in-house delicacy and I’m still drooling over it!
Surprise Surprise!!! We were served The Blueberry Cheese Cake and I alone completely wiped it off the plate!

I wanted to post this review yesterday and that’s when I and another friend decided to go there in the evening. So, wanted to add that experience as well and post the same!
I had a fruit blast – mixture of banana, orange, strawberry and others in milk and yogurt. My friend tried the Morning blast which was a combination of orange and banana in milk and yogurt. Both good with the tinge of sour which enhanced the taste. For the main course, I had the Egg and Mushroom Ragout Penne which was slightly bland and had its own flavor. One of the best pastas ever for me but, turned out to be too filling for my stomach. This was served with the garlic bread. My friend tried the Mota Special – this is supposed to be one of the famous egg delicacies made on the streets of Manipal. Bread and butter with the egg curry made an exceptionally good combination.
As always, my extra tummy for the desserts always let me have it without fail. I ordered for caramel custard. Though initially I found it bitter, I started liking the same by the time I finished it. I think I take time to develop the taste for it and once I do, there’s no looking back :)
My friend ordered a Bull’s eye and was totally engrossed into it. After a long conversation there, which the restaurant and the ambience encourage, my friend ordered an Iced Tea and was totally happy with it.

For all this satisfaction – the ambience, the food – ofcourse delicious, the lovely music and the impeccable courteous service, a meal for two would cost anywhere around Rs.400 which is a total VFM
Highly recommended for the eggatarians and for all those who’d love to experiment and have a total transformation!

What can one do with an egg!!

It was eggastic!! Smelled a little of egg (what else wud u expect in egg factory) and few stains on the table. But the offer was decent - bell pepers, mushrooms, boiled veggies, parathas, fajitas with eggs @500 is a foodies paradise.

God knows what all can they do with eggs - Kesto, Bull's Eye, etc... But reminds me when my i was alone @home and felt hungry - improvisation is the name.

Ambience is cool - run-down factory settings with a iron ramp, boiler pipes, etc. Few things can be included - A wall-pad for diners to post comments, smilies to show states like available, not-available, etc. and some cartoons on egg-eaters!!
I guess other eaters enjoyed the food (heard them loud n clear), as i did mine.

Good breakfast

I have been here twice already and I think it is excellent for a nice breakfast. The occasional mornings I am able to get up, it is nice to have a spinach omelette or the nice scrambled egg on toast. Their yoghurt drinks are a powerhouse way to start the day.

I wish they had a breakfast buffet going on... ah well though. Since you can't always get what you want.

Value for money.

I'm a student and after having to shed out several bucks at expensive restaurants on treats et al., i think this offers reasonable prices and ambience..we ordered a french toast, egg burji(2) egg biryani and egg caramel custard i suppose.Came up to a little less than 400.Dessert wasn't all that great.Egg Burji is a must try, but very spicy. They should customise it to cater to different taste buds.

Niche place to eat out

Tucked away in the ground floor of White House is this nice little cafe with an amazing variety of dishes all having egg has the main ingredient !! What I like most about this place after the food is the ambience with smooth jazz mixed with new age music playing in the background and simple yet robust interiors borrowed from the looks of a fire station !! Oh yeah !! Certainly Mr Yogesh , one of the partners has an exquisite taste.

After visiting this place a couple of times , have become a regular here on weekends for breakfast ! So far no complaints !

Eggxplicitly Eggcellent!!

Reading on the other reviews and impressions, Egg factory was something we definitely wanted to visit.
After several plans and cancellations, we finally made to this place for lunch.
It was a jammed path to get to St Mark's road. Off St Mark's road to your right you'd find a building named 'The white house', The egg factory is on the ground floor of the same building, it is a pain to park on this crammed road!

We entered and I was in all smiles, I just loved the theme and logo of the place. The floor, ceiling, wooden seats and tables, walls, people, their attire everything around gives you a look and feel of a Factory. The most wanted raw material here is 'The Egg', Almost every preparation here has egg in it. We started with Pink lady and lime juice, this was soothing and very refreshing after the tiring ride. Something that is very interesting is the menu, it resembles one of those user manual that accompany the electronic gadgets we buy. They also have them translated in different languages! Also the sections in their menu have names similar to my subject line, A few to mention would be, Eggxtraordinary, Eggcellent, eggstacy. These lil creative details have been handled so well to give the whole place a super special concept!

After our drink we couldn't wait to bite into the much spoken egg delicacies. Yogesh was kind enough to place the order and needless to say, we let him do so as he was an expert! We had the 'Desi Penne pasta' which was spiced up to suit the Indian taste, It was so presentable with pasta and strips of eggs in orange sauce. A spoonful and i just loved it! the next was the the Garden Frittata which accompanied a fluff garlic bread, The Frittata was just fat and filling, Garlic bread is my favorite and here it was at it's best! Next came the parathas and methi egg curry, The Parathas were accompanied with vegetable salad and a cuppa curd. I liked the masala curd and that made a wonderful combo with paratha and boiled egg. The curry had boiled eggs in spicy gravy of finely chopped onion, tomatoes and methi leaves. It was nice to see Yogesh greet and get opinions from all his customers. My friend and I were just so filled and decided to come back again. The meal didn't real end here! To give it a grand finale came the caramel custard and bread custard. The caramel custard was indeed one of the best i have eaten so far! I liked the bread custard more than the former, it had custard with the right amount of flavor and sugar, the cherries and bread on the custard made it just the most delicious custard dessert i have had so far!!

The service was quick, empathetic and very neat, With all this warmth and sumptuous meal made a wonderful afternoon. It was definitely a task to get back to work after all this!!
For people who love eggs you must visit this place! I have made plans to bring my family and friends next, there are just so many varieties of eggs that i am keen on tasting!!
All the best and many thanks to Yogesh!!

Confessions of a vegetarian

The Egg Factory eluded me for a while, may be because I scoot in and out of Ashirvad for BFS film screenings. Then, on a winter evening after a film screening, with a sinful mind I sneaked in. For a lady customer, the place and the service personnel were warm enough. Now, there are people who say egg is vegetarian. May be it is not. I will give up one day. I can. I think. Well, may be once in a while. Or when I move out of this city. Till then, I admit to keep yielding to some eggciting temptations!

Eggcellent. Sorry I couldnt resist that one...

Bangalore has another new eatery with personality , it seems. Friends mentioned this interesting new place off St Marks Road and we had planned to go there a couple of Sundays ago for breakfast but couldn’t as it was just too tucked away , and during a rushed chore-filled morning, you wanted something familar..

I looked through the reviews on burrp.com and thought wow, quite a few people seem to have liked it as well as commented on the value for money concept. Moreover , I love eggs. I honestly think I could survive on omelets ! Another reason to go .

So here we are on Sunday at 11 am , trying to find parking on the little by lane off St Marks Road. The building ‘White House’ is visible from the main road , and the attractive board saying Egg Factory tells us we are in the right place . We walk in and discover friends we know – they live close by . They greet a few others who walk in , so I gather this is popular with people in the St Marks/Richmond/Residency Road area.

I like the logo and concept – they have chosen a niche and made the best of it . Spartan interiors, but brisk and businesslike and windows that look out on some greenery. Wooden benches trimmed with iron rail, and bench like tables. The factory like setting also is reflected in the speakers hidden in the sirens. Nice music- upbeat and not too intrusive. Air-conditioning worked- always something that I check out , as I hate to feel warm and sweaty while I eat . The semi open kitchen , where you can see white clad chefs tossing an omelet or two , and racks upon racks of eggs, was nice. I liked the menus – on brown paper like in school , and great fun to read .

Lots of stuff available , starting fro the humble bulls eye, omelets , scrambled eggs, and its infinite variations. Its amazing how much can be done with the humble egg! The scrambled eggs start at Rs. 49 and come with two slices of toasts , butter and jam. VFM for sure . I ordered the tomato and mozzarella bruschetta ( they have 5/6 mini garlic bread pieces ) at Rs 49 , and though a teeny soggy , as I kept it waiting for 10 mts while I finished my simple cheese omelet ( mmm and Rs 59) was terrific. The spouse loved his Akoorie (Rs 59), although he did not like my side swipes at his plate since I made it obvious I liked it too. The Akoorie was neither too runny nor too firm , and with a substantial smacking of ginger . Very good. There are a hundred ways to do the perfect Akoorie, but I liked this one.

The coffee (Rs 29) my husband had was machine made but robust , and great with the scrambled eggs. No demerara sugar though ..I tried the Pink Lady a banana , cherry , almond and yoghurt smoothie at Rs. 49. Good but the bananas should have been more ripe.

Since we wanted to branch out this brunch, we ordered another item each , even though we were quite full . The hot sub ( Rs 79) - with scrambled egg , petiole chili and feta served with a side of cole slaw was good. My zucchini , potato and feta frittata – topped with a spicy cilantro sauce , served with garlic bread was fluffy and fun. Keen as I was on the famed Merry Kings of Windsor as a dessert, I realized I had some limitations on tummy elasticity and reluctantly declined . The two of us paid about Rs. 450 in all.

Yogesh the owner , popped by to our table to chat as he realized we were newbies. We had a pleasant chat , trying to understand his shift into the food business, his choice of cuisine etc. A senior corporate guy who has succumbed to the entrepreneurial bug, he seems to listen very hard to his customers , and is obviously keen to make this work . Me, I think it will .Service is pleasant but thankfully they leave you alone. Its got a good structure , its unfussy , and it has character .I would come back – there are too many items on the menu lying unexplored .

I kind of expected Seinfeld to emerge from the corner with an attendant Kramer and George trailing. I look forward to bumping into them the next time we are here.

The Egg Factory

I visited the egg factory recently with my wife. We had heard a lot about it online, so this time we took it upon ourselves to go there. The experience we had was great. It is like a nice little place that has spent 100% of its effort on the quality of the food. We had the spicy egg bhurji which was, indeed, spicy and delicious. The musty mushroom pasta was ok. The fritatas were nice and fresh. The cold coffee, which by the way was from a Georgia coffee machine, was refreshing. All in all a great experience. Highly recommended and we will re-visit.

Special Place

This was a follow up visit...Had to take the family there. I checked up on burrp and The Egg Factory seemed to have made quite some impressions.
Taking cue from the earlier reviewers we did order the stuff which was referred to. The Crostini's were nice and a good starter. The Mota Special (what a name...whoever thought of it) was eggs scrambled in milk with spices and served with buttered toast..was refreshingly different.
One of the group tried the Canelloni Alforno and that was delicious...on par with any specialty Italian restaurant and at a fraction of the prices....
The food was definitely delicious and the whole ambience was so comfortable and unpretentious. The group felt that all the elements to become a classic Bangalore place were present .

Hope they do....we need more places like this in the generally overpriced Bangalore market.

Eggolicious

Ok. I never knew that there is a restaurant which has an exclusive menu of egg dishes. Being a hard core fan of eggs, I was dying to visit the place. So, I could make it during a weekend, probably during brucnch time.

Yes, the place was already crowded and we had a wait time of ten minutes and we absolutely didn't mind that. Now, the menu. It was a three/four folded paper that had a fine print of the dishes. I think a hard back menu would have been better. But it is all different places and different experiences.

We ordered Irish omelette, Three Cheese Omlette and Malabar Egg Biryani. The omlelttes were served along with two slices of bread toast, amul butter and jam. Loved those omelettes. Just melted in my mouth. And the egg biryani was quite a surprise. It was scrambled eggs tossed in biryani masala which was not too spicy not too bland, just the mild taste that I wanted. It was basmati biryani rice and a roasted boiled egg. Biryani was served with onion raita which again was not sour as I usually doubt. Overall, the whole menu was egg-sumptuous and I was craving for more. A few desserts that were mentioned in the menu and that were displayed on the board were not available and I had to settle for Tiramisu. I thought that was an average one. I would say, I can visit the place any time of the day to try out the other egg dishes.

The service needs a lot of improvement. We had to signal the waiters atleast 3-4 times before they attended to us. Since, the tables were made of wooden slabs, I think they needed more care while cleaning; a mere cleaning with a damp cloth left the table with stains.

Food: 4/5
Ambience: 3.5/5
Service: 3/5
Price: A little above avegare but again, worth it

Different, but I won't be returning

Interesting concept, but disappointing. There are gross things written on the walls like "enema" and "urine." The menu is very confusing, as there doesn't seem to be any order of the dishes sprawled across excel tables. But most importantly, the food was just ok, and the service was poor.

Great food!

I've eaten at Egg Factory consistently over the past 2 years and I can proudly say that it is one of my favourite restaurants in Bangalore. The ambience is casual and laid back, so the focus remains on the food. The walls are splashed with witticisms and the lights are eggshell shaped!
On the food front, the menu is diverse but not disorganized. I have tried the pasta with the egg, the egg quesadillas, the egg bhurji all of which have been fantastic. The egg factor to the various items add an interesting twist. The cherry on top of the food experience here is the french toast with blueberries and cream cheese, served with maple syrup. They serve the best french toast I have ever had, light, fluffy, bursting with flavour, an absolute recommendation!

I look forward to going back and sampling the rest of the menu!

Victim of its own success

I was a huge fan of this place and the last visit changed all that. I had ordered for a pasta in mushroom and egg ragout and when the order was served I felt it was under cooked.
I aksed for the order to be replaced, which was done with no alarms being sounded. But what I got back after 10 min. was the microwaved version of the same dish. The sauce was now a mush and the ingredients totally unrecognisable.
Honestly did not expect this from one of my favorite joints in Bangalore. As they say what goes up must come down!!!

Summer Coolers are unique

Packed beyond belief - no wonder this place is popular. Modern fresh deco with real catchy music. With this eggy themed restaurant - the gliterring and flickring lights placed in the eggshells is bang on. Whats even more funny is that MTR outlet bang opposite this joint - what a mix of sambar and eggs when you stand outside the shop. The other reviews have praised the Eggy menu - not much to add - the food hit the spot - full marks (though the french toast didnt feel that eggy) - the scrambled eggs were amazing. For pasta lovers, the caneloni is a must try - very subtle taste and creamy. My discovery was they this joint makes very unique summer coolers - cucumber based drinks, basil and mint based drinks are out of this world - perfect for a hot weekend afternoon. Needless to say the menu leaves you satisfied and excited.

Been there 2 times now in a row. First time, the breakfast was not all that great. Ordered Egg florentine and it was too creamy and didnt like that feeling in the morning. May be my choice was wrong. Then a french toast, which was just ok. Second time, stuck to basics. Egg scramble, toast and cofee. Spot on. Exactly the way it should be. Honestly the second time I went there just because of lack of choice, but it changed my opinion. Service was good.
Dear Management, what is stopping you from serving Orange juice ? For some reason, to me, English breakfast without an Orange juice always feel incomplete.

Hi Sudhakar,
Thanks for giving us a second try. We agree that florentine is not everybody's ideal breakfast. We do look forward to having you back.

Cool breakfast/snack place

HI! have been going here now and then since 2009 when it first came up,as was put up at neighboring rest house rd back then. very nice place and ambience ,nice spread of omlettes,bhurji/akkuri. was a die hard IHOP fan back in the US ,so love the concept of egg factory. almost 3 years later i find it getting very noisy sometimes if you want to go for a nice sat/sun breakfast. one other thing that hasnt changed since early days is the machine tea that they have. would love traditional indian pot tea that you probably get in koshys or someplace or addition of sausages to the menu, but maybe they want to stay niche . love the graffiti on the walls always :) cheers!

Hi Sumedh,
Thanks for being a patron of the egg factory. We are trying out a new system for Tea and Coffee at our new outlet in J.P. Nagar. If it is successful better tea and coffee is only a few days away.
Thanks for all those good words.

Finally !!

Well finally made it to the Egg Factory for a Sunday late lunch , and it was Purrfect .
I loved the rustic feel of the wood , the menu and the walls .
I ordered an eggs florentine , though it was not the textbook recipe, i did love my dish .

i live near JP Nagar so was absolutely surprised to know they have an outlet here , that's a pleasure .
Suggestions :
Maybe we can have some half boiled eggs in the menu , an egg salad , egg benedict and maybe .. just a maybe for the coffee , it can be better

But otherwise ,visiting this place again soon !

Great Food! Good value for money

I was there for breakfast at Egg Factory and truly loved the place. The interiors are just basic, but I would love to see the walls get a coat of paint soon to avoid looking dilapidated. Coming to food, truly awesome quality and quantity. I think they have some very good chefs here. Had some superb scrambled eggs with toast and an even nicer coffee. One tip I need to give the management is that they need to train their waiters and stewards to be a bit more smiling and customer friendly. The guy who served us was quite grumpy!

It was a Sunday morning. Quite some back actually, just found the time to write this review. Cant remember exactly which day it was. Maybe a pep talk to all your staff in general may help. Anyways, keep the good work going. Maintain the place well, thats one tip I would like to give you Yogesh. Seems like it is on the verge of loosing its charm a bit. A paint job should do wonders! All the best. I will be returning here more often.

Eggcellent. Start by browsing the menu !!

This is of those places you are tempted to go to because EVERYONE seems to be talking about it. The food is very good and tasty. The food for 2 costs around Rs.600-700/-

Like the name says you have 100 of varieties of Egg related items like the regular stuffs Bulls eyes, omlette to heavily egg based pastas and breads. The ambiance is really good and the seating arrangement is also pretty good. The staff is also really cordial too (something that seems to be reducing fast in Bangalore)

But its the creativity of the menu that gives you the feeling that you should meet the Owner. The menu will be filled with words like "Eggxclusive" "Eggcellent" "Eggtc."

Enjoy some good Italian food (that's what I thought this place was). Whatever enjoy !!!

Eggxactly what I've always wanted!

I've been a regular for the 2+ years I was in Bangalore - your food is addictive - I mean in a nice way :)

The taste, the ambiance, the presentation, and the price is just right! Been a regular last coming customer - this was a regular for a couple of friends and self to hit after gym. I must commend one of your staff, Raj (if I recall his name correctly) for hiw warm and courteous service - despite us being quite often, the last orders for the day - keep it up mate!!

Had to shunt out of Bangalore due to an internal transfer :-/
Any plans of spreading your wings and starting up here? I really think Mumbai is just right for Egg Factory to move into!!

Had heard of the story of you setting up this store from a friend, and was really amazed!! Would love to hear from you, suppose you could write in at mum-underscore-biker-at red-iff-mail dot-com? Look forward to hear from you folks!

Cheeers!! or should I say, spread the cheer! :)

Eggilicious

Came here Saturday evening at around 7 p.m. Ordered Malabari egg biryani and egg chilli. The biryani had scrambled egg mixed with long grain aromatic rice and one egg cut into 4 pieces garnished on top. It was served with raita which was also good. The egg chilli (Indo-Chinese style, spicy) was eggastic and went well with biryani. The presentation of food is really good (as well as taste).

The decor is minimalistic with red and brown interiors and with black ceiling, but food is the main attraction here. Service was okay and price is reasonable. My bill Rs.235 (for 2 items) [Rs.205 + 14.5% VAT]. This was my first visit and will definitely return again. It is a MUST try.............

Great Joint for breakfast

Usually go here after a walk/Run in lalbagh over weekends.
Must try : French toast with blueberry sauce
My usual drink: The pink lady - TEF's version of a fruit blast and its very good
The omlettes are pretty good too.

Over all quality is always consistent and easy on the pocket too. Give it a shot. You wont regret it

A Sunday morning breakfast place

Be it the decor, the food served or the location for that matter.. all that comes to my mind is.. Sunday morning breakfast. You will not get as many varieties of eggs anywhere else. Particularly the dishes served with brown sauce.. I must say "other-worldly". The regular ones like omelettes and french toasts are also superbly done.
A must go place for early birds.

Excellent place for eggetarians

Been to this place couple of weeks back. This place is not easily visible from the main road, but thanks to Google Maps, finding this place was a breeze.

Ordered florentine (sounded similar to this), egg pakoda, egg chaat, and ultimate egg omelet along with a drink. All the items were excellent, but I and my friends couldn't order the second course. All of us felt that we had an overdose of egg :)

Would definitely recommend this place to any egg lover.

@Egg Factory guys: Excellent place you guys got there. Really loved the food options and variety.

Egg .. Egg .. and egg

If you are fond of egg and planning to try with different egg recipes, this is the right place for you. Most of the items are new to me and we ordered the known and familiar items as we don't want to take a risk at our first visit. To our surprise, the items are really good and tasty.
The interiors are well thought of and with some funny sayings on the wall. I had the Kothu Parota which was good but with some minced meat it would have been excellent but out of sync with the place. Head over to the Egg factory for an eggperience..

Like they say eggelicious

I had been to this place after hearing a lot about it and I must say, I was not disappointed. This place has one of the best ambiances that I have seen and it reminds me of places that I have seen in some hollywood movies. The place has good decor and there are a lot of items on the menu, and not just egg items at that but also some north indian food. The place is good value for money too and is a must go for anyone who likes to eat eggs.

Eggriliant

Just awesome place for the egg lovers! learnt to eat eggs after coming here! tasty as hell. The bengal curry and the omlette are a delight. The menu has been revamped recently and more dishes have been added. I was a fan of the older menu book. The new paneer bhurji pasta/egg burji pasta gives a new taste to the traditional pasta. The Quantity of rice combos is less and not filling for lunch, but all in all really good

eggcellent !!

Park your car anywhere close to St mark's road on a sunday morning... take a lazy stroll to the egg factory . Then , you are set for a wonderful breakfast and a healthy one too . The roof is black and the walls are creatively designed with some graffiti art too .
The menu is well designed and the names of the dishes are originative.
I like the Clorophyll fix and the egg medley . Yet to try other ones on the ellaborate menu .
The staff though not fluent are courteous and are quick .

WE ARE FULLY ENJOYED EGG pARTY......SHIVA SOWMYA.

last week I visited this place with my girl friend. I loved the ambience, and the staff was eager to serve you. I loved the decor of the place, very rustic, stuck to the theme of Eggs-----Thought the seating was very rough and very comfortable. The food on the other hand blew our minds away....It was wonderful to see egg being incorporated into every dish in a superb way....We had the pastas, french toast and some mock-tails...The service was quick, clean and lovely...It is one place I am sure to visit again...Value for money and in the heart of Bangalore....
