Decent Restaurant

I have been to this place with my friends and we had a really wonderful time. This restaurant is located in the heart of the city in T Nagar and reservations are strongly recommended. One of of my buddy was a bit cranky so the staff took him around the restaurant while we dined the lovely barbecue dished out by them. The experience is nice. The price seemed a bit on the higher side but I have no regrets, because taste justified the price we paid. A must go for family outings. If any management staff of the same is reading this, then I’ll give 4 out of 5 to the staff.

On top of all, I wud like to appreciate the service staff and the concept. Though the food was average, i cudnt find myself to complain abt it as it was perfectly balanced by other details. Get urself full on the starters and desserts..... never miss out the gulab jamun...

Awesome!

I loved this place the first time I went there, tasty tasty kebabs in squires on hot coal right in front of you.
Plus we get a complementary drink on week days and a band plays on the weekends.
But the management in sneaky on weekends by restricting the menu, increasing the price and offering no complementary drink.
The starters become so heavy that you cant really concentrate on the main course and the desserts.
I didn't like the biriyani there. Rotis and side dishes were good.
Their dessert spread isn't wide, cream cakes are bad, brownies are good though.
I wish they had a wider variety of cut fruits.
The place is huge with a large seating capacity, but it is always difficult to get seats, especially on weekends. So, it is always wise to make reservations

Masalaful Experience

This place won my heart hands down with its service , environment and food. It's best for vegetarians . BN are the first ones to have initiated the International concept of a live grill in India.
Starters, accompanied by a great variety of Buffets. Peaceful ambience with great smelling food. Desserts add charm to your meal. Best within a budget of 550-600 per person.

Good same old. Can do better.

There's no doubt that Barbeque nation is one of the top Buffet places in Chennai. But for how long can they continue being the same old. It's definitely a challenge to bring out something new to the game.
Since BN has been in the game since so long, one would assume that they might have come up with something new, fresh and unique by now.

For starters, go there for their starters! ;)

BBQ Nation is by far the best place to party. The waiters are so principled that once when I tried to tip them, they were so righteous and refused to take it.

And, their starters are the best in town. Adjectives in the english language cannot describe the place and to talk of the desserts would at least take me a gazillion words to describe them.

One line about the restaurant - Outta the world!

Mouth Watering Starters!

This place is kickass!
Ready to spend 500 then you can possibly have the best of experiences with food for the taste is just brilliant especially the starters. Until you pull the flag down, they keep serving you starters. The desserts are also good.

The waiters here don't accept tip and they return it when you offer them. That's something remarkable. Also the ambiance and the service is exceptional.

I don't mind spending here.

Unlimited fun

Imagine 10 hungry meat-eaters, descending in a horde on a tiny restaurant tucked away in a back-alley in T.Nagar. Now imagine their expressions as skewer after skewer of succulent roasted meats are brought out in unlimited quantities, heated at the table and slathered with dressings.

That is how my group has always reacted at Barbeque Nation. By the time we're done with the kebabs, most of us are too full for the buffet and have but enough appetite to sample the desserts.

Best in Class !!

Being a regular at this place, I can safely say this is the best Barbecue spot in Chennai. Their starters, one each in Chicken, Fish, Prawn and a variety of Vegetarian dishes is vast. These are only the ones that go on the grill. They have a mutton, chicken and a few veg starters. Their Crispy potatoes and crispy corn starters are just awesome.

I don't think many people go in for the buffet after the grill, but the buffet is also vast and includes everything from Naan to Biryani. For extremely hungry people, there is no better place.

best starters in town

its one of the places that comes in mind when we plan for a group outing!. The place is small but that does not let you down of the food or the ambiance that they provide you. The starters are the highlight and the Flag that they have kept , when up the starters keeps filling in the plate and when your stomach is full with starters only then will you think of the main course and realise that you will have to pull the flag down to stop the starters from coming. yummy starters. The food is usual though!.. very less variety but the taste is yummy! and the deserts... ha.. we will have to dump our stomachs with the deserts because by the time you reach the deserts i am sure there will be no space in the tummy!..:)

Good Food, a refreshing ambience

I had heard a few good reviews about this place, so decided to check it out. I must say, though we went on a weekend when reservation was full, we managed to secure a table in about 20 mins. It was well worth the wait.

The food offers a refreshing style, with an array of starters, mostly kebabs. Though the kebabs were really delicious, I find the lack of veg kebabs a bit worrying. Well once we were done with the *unlimited* starters, we started to work on the main course, the buffet. The buffet offers a wide variety, but is biased towards the non veg side as well. The desserts were sumptuous, I particularly loved the cake served on that day. All in all, I would recommend this place only to good eaters. Veggies may find it lacking in a sense, but is a heavens abode for all the non-veggies.

A great place to hang out in Chennai!

Little did I know that I would be getting the same awesome ambiance and mouthwatering variety of food that I got in the BBQ nation at Mumbai, here in Chennai as well. On a Saturday night, we had the audacity to drop in without a reservation, but after being assured by the customer service desk that they would be able to help us get a table within an hour...and lo behold!...it was exactly 50 minutes when I got the call that my table was ready...the live band, great service by the attendants and of course, the food made the 1.5 hour journey to T Nagar worth the effort...Only area of improvement that I could think of was - We did not realize that some special 'Food Festival' was going on...did not reflect in the food at least..nothing different from their regular stuff anyway..

The best bbq in town!

After reading all the glowing reviews abt this place, I just had to eat here! Had made plans many times to come here but I finally made it for dinner yday.

We ordered 2 veg and 1 non veg buffet. The starters were just scrumptious! The paneer was soft and nicely done and the mushrooms were very tasty. The sheer no. of grilled items quite my tummy full. The main course buffet was quite ordinary and the desserts were just awful barring the ice cream and strawberry cake. The entertainment was good with the live band and a group of waiters even gave us a dance number! The waiters served us well in spite of the crowd.

All in all a very fine dining experience I thoroughly enjoyed with my family. Hope to be back here soon with someone who has an appetite to do justice to the grills! :-)

Dig Into Grill

One of the few places that has a unique style of cooking and dining. Every table has a square pit in the center, and there comes a grill that holds hot coals to cook vegetables and meat. Aptly named Barbeque nation, the place is a haven for those who enjoy grilled food. I have been here a few times, with friends and family. Order a drink, dig into the Barbeque veggies and meat, and enjoy a relaxed evening.

Quite spacious, the place has wooden benches and tables, which are quite comfortable. The staff will place a flag on the table, that gets folded down when you are done with the barbeque. The food here is served Buffet style. So when you are done with the barbeque, you can go spend time on the buffet and enjoy the dishes placed there. But the barbeque itself is quite filling, so we usually head straight out to the dessert counter.

It is one of those places we love going as a group for a lazy relaxed evening.

Starters starters and more starters!

This is a great place to go to if you are a non veg freak. I was not particularly impressed by their vegetarian starters tho'. The first time I went there I was so full with the starters alone that I did not even try the main course and when I went in the second time I was careful not to eat the starters alone so I had place to try their main course! :)
I was really impressed with their main course which had a neat variety of salad, a papdi chat (which was good), a mutton biryani and chicken biryani, a chicken gravy, dal, paneer and 2 or 3 sea food items. For dessert they had the usual buffet dessert spread of icecream, gulab jamoons, some soufle's and some kind of an orange kheer thingy in a small pot (not sure what its called) Overall it was a great experience.

Not for Veggies..! Pls dont expect humble service

On the first sight, soon you enter into the place.. you would be like "WoooW".. but looks could deceive...

intially, u will have this feel, "More options to choose from" but it is again not true.. first few grills served to you would be tastier.. but on seeing the same items being repeated, You would be bored to death.

Some of the kebabs are often not cooked properly - i think if it is too crowded they send it to us to finish the cooking, well we are given a grill rite?

No complaints about cleanliness, its quite good.

Not too many options for Veggie lovers, except for the same aloo & Paneer served in various shapes and sizes ;)

if not accompanied by those liquors, this restaurant would have been a big Flop... Anyways, a nice place to have a longgggggggg munching chat with friends..

May not disappoint Non-Veggies..

Food frenzy!!!

Omg..do I love this place or do I love this place? ;) ok...let's first talk abt how crowded it is!
We had reserved a table but yet had to wAit for over 15 mins. We finally managed to get in & I really liked the way the place looks. Very classy yet simple décor. Tables are low, seating is comfortable..good lighting. The staff were very courteous but I couldn't quite understand what they spoke.. Most of em speak with a thick Bengali accent. Service was excellent anyway.
For starters, we had chicken (which was the best!), mutton, potatoes, paneer, grilled fruits (ever heard of that??) & walnut rice cake. We had several rounds of each..everything was yummy!
The main course has a lotta variety but was not as impressive as the starters. We had chicken dum biriyani (which was so spicy that even thining about it now brings tears to my eyes), crab curry (messy eating inspite of the crab cracker that they provide), some chicken curry, mutton curry, sprouts fried rice, couple of paneer dishes, nan & some more stuff that I don't remember. Nothing was bad...everything tasted pretty decent but I was expecting something much better.
The desserts stole the show. We had gulab jamuns, ice cream, butterscotch pastry, chocolate brownie, cheese cake, jelly, fruits & kheer. Every dish was perfect!! :)
I would LOVE to go to this place again & again. Good food, excellent service & affordable...for now, BBQ nation is my favourite restaurant in chennai :)

bbq nation shud be renamed as ENTERTAINMENT nation

the raving of my friends about the place got me kinda wondered , is there a place in chennai so good to rave about ? and so the journey began .

the reception is a bit too small for the crowd it attracts .( - .5)

i had made the reservations at 2 45 and got it at 2 50 , no issues .

i had gone alone . the reason being , i wanted to find the true depth of the taste , cause when ur wid company , even if the food sucks , ull have a nice time , hence enhancing the ratings .
the waiter was kind enough to explain the prosedure as it was my first time . i really enjoying the bbq experience though there was not much of an option for the vegetarian platter .

the best part of the place is the beverage , i thoroughly enjoyed the mock tail . :D it was so good that i didnt mind spending extra buks on another drink .

the buffet was like any other except for the ice cream , lemme get to that later .

it was definitely a treat for the non vegetarians , but they gotta make it up to the expectaion of the vegetarians as well

the deserts were not up to the mark despite the availablity of different sauces . the chocolate brownie was too sweet destroying the entire dining experience , the payasam was horrible and cheesecake was indianised , ( - 1.5)

if they can do something about the vegetarian platter and the desserts .i mite reconsider my review .

the ambience is truly what one calls THE DINING EXPERIENCE provided u get the right seats ,

Good food....stick to starters

We had been to this place on Sunday last.We were told to register in the first floor after entering. There was a family waiting on a couple of sofas near the entrance.
Upstairs Reception area is pretty cramped teeming with lots of techie kind youngsters sitting (on just 3 sofas)standing and waiting to be let in.The booking was done and we were asked to come after 45min.We did window shopping on the s.usman rd and managed to get in as per the schedule.

The dining area is pretty spacious with decor pleasing to the eye.The waiters are never in a hurry and politely take the order. In the middle of the table there is a square shaped space where the charcoal fired chulha fits and the grill plate set upon.

The starters are the best part. The never ending supply of skewers are set on top of the grill. You have spiced olive oil(ginger ,garlic)+sauces to brush & spice up the barbecue.they came in handy sized pieces that would suffice for a single bite.

The Barbecue -chunks of capsicum ,cauliflower, mushroom, paneer & meats -small whole prawns, fish, chicken, mutton each separately keep coming in skewer after skewer. This we suggest is the tastiest & enjoyable part of the dining. You stuff your belly till you feel ok and down the fold able flag pole,to indicate you are done with starters. The barbecue session is light & easy on the stomach sans spicy masalas & oil.hence you can lose count of how much you shovel into your mouth.

After the flag is downed ,you head for the buffet section( not a great spread with average menu)plus you cannot indulge much coz of the overindulgence at the barbecue ,I could manage a nice okhra salad with corn pulav & veg noodles.there are 4 types of salad & 2-3 types of dishes in both veg 7 non veg +curd rice.

same goes for Dessert too - Average spread.one ice cream, fruit salad, gulabjamun, chococake and a tart. Our bill for two came fora steep rs1540+ (We were expecting about Rs1100)

It was a nice dining experience with barbecues.

There is a live band playing western music catering to requests. There-is also a tastefully done bar counter with drinks served on the table for additional cost..

Barbeque nation needs to work on the seating for the hungry, standing guests. They could think of lots of stack-able chairs instead of the few space occupying sofas.

Rude Front office Girl

Last week we visited this place, after making a booking for a table of six. Since we went by two cars, the person who had booked the table was yet to come. Hence when we reached the front office desk,I had told that girl that booking is done, and we had to try out some names out of all the six, her attitude there was so horrible. She was like - "Any other names" first and then she doubted us and asked twice -" DID YOU REALLY BOOK"? that really annoyed us. Horrible welcome she gave, she tapped her foot down and yelled at us. I rushed inside the restaurent and brought in a person who looked like manager with black dress and if i remember right he had a name hooked as :Sanjai. I took his help and told that this girl is behaving horrible and wanted him to take us to the first floor where the actual table booking was done for us. Though we booked and reached the place on the right time, just because this girl behaved very rude, the whole lunch session was so unpleasant fo r us. Management has to take some action on this. I also wrote this on the comment papers given to us on that day.

Barbequed brilliance

Any foodie would walk out of Barbeque nation happy, satisfied and texting his/her friends about it!

The ambience is pretty good but nothing very extraordinary. The grill on the table concept totally clicks. In case you're wondering...the food doesn't get cooked on your table completely.....it comes cooked, the grill allows you to marinate your Kebabs the way you like them an cook them to your desired level.

A Kebab fan would easily fall in love with this place. The lip-smacking kebabs keep coming....UNLIMITED....you just can't help but to stuff one more in, and then you realize those we're just the starters. The fish kebab was the best I've had, and the potatoes...never knew potatoes could taste so good. I must add veggies might be a little disappointed, since i only found the paneer and potatoes good...but being a meat lover, maybe i can't be a fair judge.

The main course consists of a variety of dishes of multiple cuisines to choose from at the buffet table. All good here.....but you must be feeling full by now, so do leave some space for the deserts.

Variety of deserts available....you're sure to find something of your taste, or like me just take a bit of everything.

The service here is great as well, they make sure you're satisfied all through!

At around 500Rs per person, this place is totally worth it!...not an economical restaurant but an experience worth the money spent.

Mixed Reactions!

Visited this place for the first time a month back. We were a group of 15, and we loved the place. Had booked a table, and contrary to the reviews - the table was ready. We wanted a table near the stage, but could not get one there. Had to sit inside, but the decor was nice and so it was okay! The starters arrived in style. I liked the idea of having a grill on the table. The best were the ones with mushroom and baby potato. I am a veggie, so cant comment on meat. Heard those were good as well. The walnut rice cake is a must have, and the sweet nan is just a pass. Moving on to the main course, I felt the varieties were limited. Given the price, it could have been more. Yet after gorging on the starters, it did seem fine. The breads were served on table and were soft. There was one lentil based curry which was creamy. Skip the salads, pretty passe. Desserts were amazing. I loved the chocolate cake thingy and the jelly. Over all, a nice place to dine provided you go here rarely. I heard they dont change the varities too often. Music lovers will love the whole idea!

Most hyped restaurant ever!

Yes agreed that the concept of an unlimited starter followed by a huge spread is a good one but that's isn't everything.
The customer service is pathetic and when you try group booking they directly deny. After some chats with resources came to know that since as a group ppl tend to spend a lot of time, it blocks the table for a longer time with a fixed revenue and this in turn cuts down their income. So if you want to have a gala time with your friends, BBQ Nation isn't the place! and for veggies, this place is a big NO! Sigree with a similar concept, similar or better spread with a far better staff is much more preferable. Far most the most hyped restaurant ever with exorbitant cost and crappy attitude!

King of kebabs....

Its a nice place as far as i know. Had just been there once for a family treat. I loved the kababs here and the way they were served - direct from the mini barbecue pit on the table. That day it was raining outside i certainly enjoyed the food being kept warm despite the the air conditioned room. Buffet was really good with good variety, especially the desserts variety was lip smacking.....;-)) No much idea about the cost though. It was a different and refreshing experience all together.

Amazing Experience

Yesterday(6/10/2012) I had a chance to visit this restaurant along with my 4 friends. All were new to this restaurant and we read about the quality of the food only thro' websites review. After a long wait we got the seats for 5.
MY Ratings:
For Ambiance - 9 out of 10
Pleasant atmosphere inside the restaurant; Valet Parking space is the only constraint.
For Food - 9 out of 10
Starters are Amazing, never expect this kind of taste and varieties. Main Course Food and Desserts are also Tasty. Only Soup is not upto the mark.
For Service - 10 out of 10
Fantastic & Great hospitality experience we had. I really HATS OFF for the service provided by all the Waiters, Managers and all employees in this restaurant. Not sure, how these guys are providing Top grade service for all Guests equally. No matter who you are, the good service is applicable for all Category of people.
Not Accepting the TIPS also even if we force to give. Wow....

I would really appreciate the Management and the Owner of this restaurant from my bottom of the Heart. This restaurant does have all the qualifications for getting Award and Recognitions.

Only request, Management has to reduce the waiting hours.Thanks.

Much said - and true too

Much said about this place and some may even warn you to book a week early (if you are late by an hour to the 7 days, you may not get the table etc....).
Been to this place (yes - we booked 7 days prior !) with a gang of 25 and all had a nice time.
We got the one full row (on the ground floor) - 4 tables - which helped us to move around / chit-chat & even pass on the plates !
Buffet-dinner is limited & selective (but then - who is here for those, its only Starters, Starters & Starters !).
Some one indeed raised the flag - post main course & am pleasantly surprised for the staff to attempt for serving.
Well trained staff & a good concept - you guys are rocking.
Yes - parking, too much crowd, too fussy on all reach by 6.30 - then you get discount else full charge etc - kind of put-off's !

Wonderful experience

Barbecue Nation has become a legendary name in Chennai. Nowhere else can you hog on Tandoori prawns in unlimited quantities and that too really tasty ones. Not to forget the huge range of other starters which keep coming and coming till you cant take it anymore. Theres wonderful live music during weekends and drinks are available on the table.

We have been going here regularly and the quality of food has always remained the same. Even had a few small parties there. The service has actually improved and they do take care of you very well. After all the starters are done there actually is a buffet to feast on,if you can! The food on offer in the buffet is pretty tasty and when you look at the desserts you are so tempted to taste them as well. Finally when you are done it takes an effort to get up!

Kudos to the entire Barbeque nation team and wishing them all the best.

Wonderful experience!

I was eagerly awaiting a chance to experience Barbeque Nation for so long and yesterday my wish came true.
To start with, the ambience was really good. Starters was the best part of the entire meal ,with the items being grilled in front of you, on the table. That was something new to me and was really fun!
There was nothing extra ordinary about the main course buffet, but the food was good enough and the veg people have a lot of options in that area!
Onto the dessert, it was really disappointing. As per my friends, the dessert section is usually good in Barbeque Nation, but somehow yesterday i had a bad experience with desserts.

Overall, a nice place to hang out with your friends and family.
And i really hope they can improve their dessert section (kids love it!)

Best Buffet restaurant in Chennai (26.11.2010)

I have been to BBQ Nation couple of times say 5-6 times in last few months. I would say, till date they are the best in Chennai for corporate lunches and family dinners. Though it is very crowded and at times you may not even get a table after waiting for an hour, if you walk-in, still will rate 5/5 for their recipe, ambiance and hospitality. Do book your table to avoid embarrassment.

Enjoy dining at BBQ nation. But please note they are not the same as other BBQ nation, other city branches like in Delhi and Gurgaon, one can ask for their favorite recipe from chef if it is not there on that day menu, any recipe, starter or main course or dessert. In gurgaon I always used to ask for the Jelaepi from Chef which one should never miss from BBQ nation.

A good place to visit.

Yesterday,17/10/2012, I visited this hotel with my wife.Even though I tried to book a table in advance, they informed me, that the bookings were full, and at the same time, the nice girl on the phone, told me that they always welcome walkins. So I took a chance and went there at about 1P.M., I was asked to go to the first floor and register my name, and in five minutes, I was given the table.
Since it was my first time, the waiter was very kind enough to explain the concept, and let me tell you, I have not seen such kind of service, in our Indian hotels.Almost all the boys were from North India and they really do a great job.One incident ,I like to emphasize, my wife is a typical Chennaite, and she wanted RASAM,with here white rice, and surprise, the young waiter said he will try, and within five minutes, he was offering one of the best Rasams which we have tasted, and this is from a north Indian based hotel, and let me tell you, we have tasted a lot of Rasams, and this one is one of the best.
Coming to the food, yes this place is very good, and their welcome drink is excellent, and of course , the starters are equally excellent.
We both loved this place, and we are going to be their regular customers.

Non-Veg Heaven !

I am a total sucker for Barbequed chicken !! So it was no wonder that i absolutely loved the place. I was too engrossed in eating the kebabs to remember n quote wat i ate. but whatever it was, it was yummy. And the best part - its unlimited.. u can hog on bbq chicken, mutton, prawns, fish for as long as ur heart and stomach desires. but vegeterians will be disappointed though they do serve bbq mushrooms and potatoes.
I hogged so much that i ended up not having the buffet lunch afterwards. i pecked a little at the biryani and it was yumm too. so next time i go there, im hoping to enjoy their buffet too.. though the spread there is limited, it smelled and looked nice..
As for their desserts. they had some cakes, hot gulab jamuns, etc- the usual stuff. Does not satisfy a dessert lover like me, but enough to end ur meal on a sweet note.
They have a variety of mocktails for the non-alcoholic ppl. and they are quite tasty too..
To sum it up, a MUST TRY for all chennaites, whether u like bbq or not!

Veggies - This is for you!

Less options for vegetarians! But amaazing starters. Make sure you're more than 80% full after your starters.
The potatoes and cottage cheese is the best of all!
The main courses are not soo great! Same old fried rice, noodles and stuff. Nothing extra ordinary!
Desserts are pretty good! The cheese cakes and the variety of ice creams makes you drooll!
Ambiance is great! Nice music, nice food! Great place to hang out with loads of people!

Pro's :

Starters
Desserts
Ambiance
Good service

Cons :

Ordinary main course
Less options

Overall : A must place to go just for the starters. Atleast once!

Simply a disgrace..

I've been to this pathetic excuse of a barbeque place 5 times (none of the times initiated by me!!) and been dissapointed every single time for the worse!! For starters, it begins with pathetic reception. The lady who works there refuses to acknowledge your presence even if you are staring her in the face and have a reservation!! When you are eventually shown to your table, the kababs are prolly taken out of the freezer or something and left to heat up on the grill at ur table!! after 20 mins, they are still cold on the inside!! Although i am non vegetarian, my veggie friends had nothing to eat except for potatoes mushrooms and capsicum!! Ridiculous for the money they pay to eat here!! The bar stocks nothing else other than kingfisher beer, which is not even cold!! You would think the buffet would serve some serious food, but its a total let down there too!! The bill would probably arrive when all your food has been completely through your digestive tract after dinner!! Pathetic service, pathetic drinks, horrible live music band. I hate bad reviewing a place, but I am NOT going there EVER again, even if its the last place on earth!! A total disgrace to the excellent BBQ nation they have in b'lore!!

WOW!!!

I was asked to wait for an hour during an unreserved weekend and decided to give it a slip. Now I got a chance to visit barbeque nation on a weekday and got a table. This was a different experience of having kebabs direct from the mini barbecue pit on the table with skewers refilled as and when it is emptied.
They have two buffet options
2NV + 4V starters - Rs. 375
5NV + 5V starters - Rs. 475
Being mad about kebabs, I obviously chose the second option. The Mutton seekh kebab and chicken tikka were good and the prawns were OK. The Lebanese fish was the best kebab I ever had. The barbecued fruit (apple) was different and exciting. After unlimited rounds of kebabs, there is no room for any main course (but, desserts dont require any space). Dessert section is not the best, but good enough to fill in the gaps.
And, did I forget to mention that they offer a complimentary drink (choice of mocktails / beer).

Not your backyard b-b-q but close!

While its not your backyard barbecue, its as close as you can get without the messy marinades, burning charcoal and lighter fluid! A no-nonsense mini barbecue right in the middle of your table where you can choose from a variety of marinades and grill your almost-finished skewers of meat or veggies. The appetizers are seemingly endless and the thought of exploring their buffet almost makes your stomach explode! The buffet, complete with soups, starters, main dishes and desserts provides a nice selection, especially for those who are not barbecue-inclined. The ambiance is dimly lit and relaxing. A fun concept-restaurant for a get-together with friends, a romantic dinner or a family outing!

Good Concept - Repetative

This place is just amazing, always recommend this place for this price range

Pros:
+ Excellent concept, well organized
+ Hospitality is excellent
+ Like the No tip concept - so that all customers are treated equally
+ Starters are excellent, good place for a long chat - office/family get together
+ Main course is nice

Cons:
- Difficult to get parking in that area
- Place is cramped up
- The menu doesn't change on any given day, so it kind of gets reputative
(even then I visit once a quarter, if they give variety I might go more often)

Overall the cons are negligible given the demand of the reservation :)

VFM. To write about this place, I would need 1500 words. But I am placing it in bullet points.

Wonderful starters.
Amazing barbecue style tables.
Super nice condiments.
Wonderful spread.
Dessert section is outta the world.
The food is great, the service is greater and the ambiance is the greatest.

Reserve 506 hours in advance if you want a table. Gets really crowded and there is no chance you are going to get atable w/o reservation.

BEST BUFFET IN CITY

Been there for just once in the 1st week of Nov 2011. I do not have any other words than to say its awesome. So far the best buffet i have had in city. Lip smacking starters, followed by a huge variety main course and deserts. You just need to starve for a week long without food before you head to bbq nation, just to justify your intake for the cost they charge you for the buffet.

Verdict :- Just too good.

Kill it and Grill it

Right from the moment when the waiter places a grilling oven right at your table, you will know that you are in for a unique experience. The kebabs are not bad, although there is a certain uniformity in the marinades thus leading to some monotony of taste after a while. There's good variety too, although the lack of beef kebabs does remove some level of authenticity from this place. But if there's one reason that I would give this place 3/5 instead of 4/5 is the atrocious live music. Don't get me wrong. The musician is reasonably talented, but 80s rock and skewered dead animals do not, I am afraid, mix. I recommend either desert blues or belly dancing music.

TOO CROWDED

I have been to this place with my friends last weekend with more expectation based on the reviews....The first thing that annoyed me was the place was too crowded by corporate staffs....may be this was the only place that served unlimited food for 300 bucks. It was literally like a fish market each one screaming and laughing at their top voices....on top of this there was live music which even more made the place worse....the place looked cramped up may be because of huge crowd....
The manager bappi was humble enough to explain to us on the menu of the day and took the order but again he was not able to note down the order because of the noise....
The service was prompt because we went on closing time..the food was not bad..
Coming to the worst part was that we found a small cockroach running on our table and we had to call a waiter for help in catching that insect.....
The napkins were so dirty and people who are hygiene conscious and who expect some peace while having food this place is not recommended at all...this place will survive by the corporates....

Good place for long chat over beer and starters

Barbeque nation was the place where I was going to meet my two colleagues from Chennai. I work out of Bangalore and them from Chennai, but we are in the same team. Raj sent an SMS about the restaurant booking and I was asked to reach there by 12:45PM.
However, I reached the place a little earlier than expected, as usual. This was my first time in this restaurant and I had no idea where the restaurant is. I saw the sign board and I started to walk up the stairs. Suddenly the parking attendant pointed his fingers towards my right side, his left side towards the stairs. I asked him what was he pointing for, he did not answer, and kept pointing, that was rude. I finally figured it out that may be he was asking me to go upstairs. I asked him where the restaurant is, his fingers never came down so I thought the restaurant is on the first floor. I wonder why ne never spoke, maybe he could not understand English, maybe the attitude that he showed me was it because my face is different? Whatever that was, I did not like it.
I walked upstairs and was greeted by a lady, she asked me if I have a reservation. I said it must be in the name of Raj. However, she did not have it. I decided to wait for my 2 colleagues to come.
The waiting room outside the restaurant had a wooden bench and a sofa. The center table was not at the table, the newspaper hanger had only 1 newspaper on it. The room even had an ashtray. Not sure if you could smoke there. The 2 receptionist kept walking in and out of the restaurant even if there were no patrons coming in. They were dressed in black skirt and white tops with black blazers. That seems to be the preferred dress code for most restaurants everywhere. The phone rang for about 15 times before I finally walked in. The opening statement they use seems to be right out of a customer service manual. However, I could not understand a word of it since they opened the call like a bullet train. I am a customer service trainer; I would have given a zero for that call opening.
The restaurant has a brown color theme. Most of the things are brown or shades of brown. The table, the chair, the cushions, the wall color, and the floor have a brown color theme. The cutlery is black. For some religious freaks that can be annoying since some people do not drink or eat from a black plate or glass. The concept is really good in barbeque. A small grill in the table where you are sitting and you grill your own starters, that?s quite a thing to do. The tables were a little lower than any other restaurant that I have been. It was perfect for sitting down and having a conversation.
The music theme was retro. I don?t know about other days, but whatever they played on Thursday 6th August 2009 was retro. All the songs were from the 70s, 80s, and the 90s. The songs ranged from Bon Jovi to Scorpions to Pink Floyd to Aerosmith to Bangles and to Eagles, it was heaven for a retro music lover like me. The classics you know.
The starters had chicken, prawns, and fish for the non-veg and paneer, mushroom and potato for the veggies. The starters had no problems but I could not understand a word that the waiter spoke when he was explaining something to us. He had a thick accent, a typical Bengali accent. The service was good enough for no complaints. They asked what they want to do before they did. For example, they asked if they can remove the glasses or the plates. The water was refilled every time my glass was half over. The beer was served super chilled. I guess that was some relief from the Chennai heat.
The buffet spread was not different from what you get in Barbeque nation, Bangalore. The decoration around the salads shocked me at the first glance. The decoration had cabbage and carrots shredded and spread around the salad bowls. At first, I thought it was spilled by people. Then I realized that it was designed like that. The spread was huge but I prefered to have the chicken dum biryani. It was good except that it was cold. Just in front of the spread is the open part of the kitchen, here you can see the big grill which they use to grill the starters. The dessert choices were also good. Ice Cream, Gulab Jamun, Pastries, Brownies, and cream fudge. Our lunch ended in a good note.
Overall, a nice place to sit and have a long conversation, the only reason for which is that the starters never stop coming and you are sure that there is the main course waiting for you. Good music for me, nice ambiance, very courteous staff, and good desserts are some of the things that I would like to come back here.

Mediocrity - thy name is BBQ Nation

Everyone keeps screaming about the concept and how good it is, but the concept is just as good as the service and the food.
When the place opened, I had nothing to complain of, but in just a few weeks, things seem to have drastically turned off in BBQ Nation.
Reservations are recommended even on week nights here and that is exactly what we did on a friend's birthday, reserved a table for ten and showed up about ten minutes late, thankfully, the table had been held back for us.
We settled in and they started with the starters - vegetarian separately and non-veg for the others.
If you are a vegetarian at BBQ, you are in the wrong place, it is obviously meant for the meat lovers, but what happens when you discover some hair in the chicken?
That is exactly what happened and on complaining, the waiter actually tried arguing with us on possible replacement of all the chicken starters for that grill - he thought if he just pulled out the hair and left the meat, it would be fine!
A fine kettle it was there and they had to be told that we expected them to replace all of it!
The food was not great, definitely very very passable and the buffet dinner again was just mediocre.
Mediocrity could be their middle name in fact, but the charges they lay on are atrocious.
Recommended only if you want to try a different theme and are too hungry to notice the rubbery taste of the food served.

Fifty Fifty

i have been here many times since its opening, it always feels crowded most of the time. the kababs are at times 50% good and 50% awful. their biriyani and breads are good as are their gravy. you also get a couple of oriental main courses such as fried rice or noodles. its a kind of mixed feeling whenever you go there.the service when crowded is awfully slow and they tend to ignore you even if you request something this is their minus and it makes you feel irritated. if you go as a group in a relaxed schedule you will enjoy it.

Unlimited Food at its best!

We had tried this joint in Bangalore and were pleasantly surprised by the awesome food and the unique way they served it. This was a while ago. Naturally we were intrigued when they opened in Chennai and gave it a go recently. Full marks to the amazing starters (Prawns are the best), Full marks for the incredible music! and guys they do have a buffet as well for the price you pay which included desserts and the works! To top it the service is satisfactory. They are always crowded and you should be considered lucky if you manage to get a table booking the same day! yeah thats how busy they are!! But the best part about all this is...they have CORONA beer!! lol yeah they do serve alcohol and its an experience here if you are in a group of family or friends....Just go there and experience food at it best,unlimited...

Great idea, great place

Off the beaten track, a buffet worth every bite! A variety of grills to start off and a good dessert! Its the starters that sets you rolling on the food, and easily one of the better buffets in the city. If RT buffet was known for its desserts, I will vouch for the starters here soon getting all the crownd in here! If you are a vegetarian, the main course doesn't hold much unfortunately though. The Veg Biryani is better than most other places and the fact that the buffet comes with a drink (you can choose between cocktails or mocktails) makes it real value for the money. Desserts are also great, in both variety and quality. The kind of peppy, hustle-bustle ambience of the place and the happening music are quite different and make this place stand out from most other places, which prefer to stay quiet or have softer melodies playing in the background. All in all, a must visit!

i love it

I was going through the reviews of this place. i am surprised to see how one cannot like this place. its one of the best places ive been to in chennai. as someone has rightly said u "conclude ur dinner with starters". Their choice of starters is good even for the veggies.
although the main course is not that great.
they have a great collection of wines and alcohol.
overall the place is fantabulous and i would definitely keep going back there.

Unlimited Starters & Good Pricing

Its very good for corporate dinner (if you have a budget constraint) or friends meeting up. Pricing on food is good given the unlimited starters. Price of drinks is slightly on the higher side. Since this place is always crowded, its better to reserve in advance and be there 10 mins before.

Not a place for strict vegetarians!

I had read positive reviews about the place and was was pleasantly surprised when the manager explained that the green coloured plates were for the veg dishes and brown for the non-veg items.. As I rubbed my hands in anticipation and waited for the grilled stuff to arrive, I was shocked to see that the veg and non-veg items were grilled using the same skewers...! The same manager confirmed that the skewers are the same! I mean, what the hell!!! I sat through the 3 hour dinner sipping a mocktail and watching my friends eat...no, i wasnt hungry anymore, i had lost my apetite by then...

RIDICULOUSLY EXPENSIVE!

and this aint even a three star hotel! Nobody has ever heard of Shri Devi Park Hotel until Bbq Nation sprang up with this innovative concept which attracted the typical wannabe crowd of the city .. so its undeniably happening.. that explains the pricing and the careless service. I wish they bought the waiters a mic and some confidence before they start work.

The ambiance is quite different, of course the starters being grilled on the table is part of it! But seriously, the kebabs are already cooked and ur actual kidding urself tryin to burnt it further on ur table! I felt like playing 'kitchen kitchen' when i was five! Vegetarians PLZ STAY AWAY, dont get carried away by reviews written by ppl who have probably ate in the Bangalore bbq! Theres nothing in the starters for veggies except for the usual paneer crap u can find anywhere and Thai baby potatoes which was not bad (big let down).

The chicken (Singapore style) and the prawns were edible. The stuff that actually tasted good was the ones that were directly served on the plate, viz the crispy babycorn was sooooo yummy and the fish in oyster sauce was great too. Since we were advised to spend a lot of time with the starters, we were ready for more disappointment in the buffet.

The buffet was just the usual. The veg biryani which was recommended wasn't there to be seen. There was the usual gravies, Chinese stuff, noodles, curd rice, etc. naan was served on the table and the dal was actually really good, compared to the bland taste of the rest. The desserts were average, esp the mini-jamun with ice cream and the butterscotch something. Nothing else was worth remembering. The bar menu was extensive and had everything from around the world, which is quite amazing for such a place. But be ready to spend a fortune if you want to have a good drink. They have some innovative cocktails, the masala margarita was good with chaat masala on the rim! NO! there is no complimentary drink with the buffet as falsely reviewed by many all over the internet!

As such, the buffet costs u around 450 including tax, if u planning to add anymore than that, carry ur mastercard! But if i had a lota money to blow, i wud choose much much better places in the city, than being blinded by mere hype!

Good Food but pathetic service

When I read the other reviews about this place I was in two minds whether to go or not..but finally decided to atleast give it a try. Reserved a table for the 7.3. table and they warned me to be on time or I would lose the table. So, there I was at 7.25 sharp....happy with myself and really excited...Walk in to ask the lady at the counter about my reservation...And here begins your experience with the amazing service at BBQ nation...She is totally not bothered about you waiting der...Suddenly she walks off insiide and starts attending to someone else and you are left totally clueless(and mind you...many more such instances are yet to happen soon)....finally she comes and tells me that my table is upstairs...
Go up and there is another female who is handling the phone calls and the customers at the same time...and the phonecalls keep ringing...so u inadvertantly are made to wait....finally they lead me to my table...and the day I went there was a food festival going on...so I was to get 6 veg and 6 non veg starters...I have to tel u guys this....we are in our seat by some 7.35 and only now were they actually getting ready for the crowd. I am totally blank and have no idea as to what I am supposed to do coz there was no buffet spread also....So i wait for lik 5 mins(which seemed lik eternity) and this guy comes and lays the starters on the table...I am a vegetarian so I don have an idea abt the nonvedg ones...I asked the waiter if we get any sauses with these starters and he was lik they are getting ready sir...!! Outrageous!! really couldnt believe my ears...we pay so much and we have to lik take all this non sense...so I start eating my starters...The paneer was really soft and supple...and the mint sauce which i was supposed to have it with...I got it at 8.30 when i was lik done with my starters....the best starter was the spicy thai corn cake....really yummy stuff...its a small corn cake with a sweet sauce on top....ended up lik eating some 5-6 pieces of it.( and to get them to serve u the second time of any starter u have to remind the waiter some 4 times..coz they forget that u exist)..the others were, ther was one mushroom starter... which was ok...the cajun spicy potato was not at all spicy but was crispy and tasty...the sweet naan was too subtle and nice...but i have an extremely sweet tooth so it was nice...nothin more to be said abt it...the funniest part was this...I finish with my starters and I am being given my vegetable dip(somethin which I should have gotten when I entered)...it was real comical...their service...and u need a translator for the waiters....the language they speak is er......i still havent figuered it out...after the starters got over...they removed the skewer and closed it...and they din even bother to clear the plates...i was sittin in my seat hoping to be served the soup...but no...not happening...the waiters werent even slightly interested in us....I had to ask them if I had to get the soup...and came a sheepish yes....got up and walked to the spread...the food was reall yummy...and the spread was a treat to the eyes...ther was apme long paneer latika(wierd name)..then some green peas....veg biryani and plain rice...ya...the soup turned out to be tomato rasam(like i would pay 500 bucks to have rasam again)...so i skipped it...then ther was dal....some 5 different salads...but the problem is after eating so many starters u wont have any space in ur tummy to eat all of it...so had a lil bit of everythin...ther was a live band performing...impressive...and der was a chef who would prepare pastas for u...u jus need to order it and he would get it to ur table...i ordered for an extremely tiny portion of pasta...which was very conveniently forgotten by him....and so i moved on to my desserts...but the pasta looked really delicious...but the chef had changed! i really wonder what happened to tat guy....and ya...i left the plate onm my table to go look for some salad...and when i come back...my plate was missing...they had apparently presumed tat i was done....and the second time when i had gone 4 my dessert...der was the bill on my table....der is a limit for everythin...paid my bill and everythin (der was no finger bowl)...and comes the pasta....shit man....this was it....jus tasted the pasta...which was really good...and walked off....
So...if u want good food then this is ur palce...but don even expect an ounce of good service....

A non-veggie delight

Food - fantastic spread of starters, I was surprised that they managed to maintain the taste of their branches in Mumbai in Chennai. Vegetarian choices are a bit limited, but for a non-veggie, its simply delightful. coupled with excellent deserts, you can look forward to spending a fun filled 2-3 hrs at this place.

Ambience - one of the best reastaurants in the town in this regard. Comfortable lighting, just the right amount of privacy and some good music to go with the mood.

Service - some of the best behaved staff that I have come across in chennai, very polite and while always ready to serve, yet totally non-intrusive. And unlike some other places in Chennai, they didnt rush us out at the end of our meal, even though it was past 12 and we were the only ones left.

Price - buffet at Rs 500 per head may sound pricy, but its worth the money and perfect for those special occasions.

Strongly recommended.

Poor service & cold food

I had visited the restaurant on the 13th august 2008 evening around 1930 and the reservation was done in my friends name Mr.Gopi for 7 persons and we were seated at Table No:11.

It was a total disappointment for my family ( we had already been there twice b4) and my friends family.

The kebabs served were cold and the service was pathetic and delayed. I walked twice for my 2 drinks to the bar to remind.

The vegetarians had to go home empty stomach aas there is nothing at all except for thai potatoes fat and stupid and the usual panneer and the mushrooms. Has to have some variety for sure.

The water and the kebab fillings were delayed every time and was only done after a couple of reminders and calling out to them constantly and polite reminders.

The Bill also took its own time to arrive.

Bad experience and I will not recommend it to anyone in future.

The supervisors walk around as if they are on a fitness walk just looking around and not actually looking at the table or the plates nor any enquiries to the customer.

The buffet has to undergo a complete change as it is very boring and hardly anything to cry home about.

The cost of Rs.450/- is robbery and is a total waste.
Its worth is only around Rs.250 - 300/ nett.

Change or you will be changed by all the customers out there.

Value for money

With a novel concept of buffet, this restaurant has taken control of food aficionados all over India. Unlimited starters are served at the table and can be marinated and cooked to one's taste. Ambience is good except for the little too bright setting. Service is decent given that the restaurant is always full.
Dinner Buffet per person Rs. 450

A must go for all food lovers.

Changed a Lot

I have visited this place many times but my last visit was after a 6 months break. I would say the only thing that have not changed is the crown and good service but the food quality has gone bad. The starter were dry and the marination was tasteless.

I think this place is surving at their price point and the unique grilling experience. Otherwise the food is very average and its too loud for a restaurant.

Suggested for non-veg eaters, good variety of starters. Improvement required for Veg starters. We are really sick of paneer and aloo kebabs. Good amount of concentration is required on maincourse, really we could find only few dishes for Vegan. Variety of desserts are good. Focus on vegan dishes will really add value to the menu..

Great food,good service...

These guys have chosen a great location ....with the opening up of the world's largest jewellery showroom nearby, they are almost always crowded. I would recommend that you make reservations before you go if you do not want to end up waiting for ages.
That said, their food is really good.....as of now, they only have a buffet for dinner, but there are quite a lot of dishes that line the buffet table. There is a variety of choices for vegetarians too. One of their main attractions is that they let you grill your kebabs on your table with a choice of dressings...well, actually they give you a skewer with veggies that are 90% cooked and you then grill it to your liking. Their crispy chilli potatoes are absolutely delicious. They also offer lots of dessert options on the buffet. Overall, it is definitely a good value for the money that you pay.

Best Buffet in Town

There are no words for this joint. My topmost favourite spot of all time. I have been here so many many times over the past 5 yrs ever since the buffet rates were 400 bucks for non-veg. Now its double that. Well.. Economy.. Sigh..
It is and has been and I guess will be THE BEST BUFFET SPREAD in town. No doubts.
The booking is the hardest part in Bbq. The weekday lunch spreads are cheaper and hence there is a huge despite the restaurant being very spacious and they have different time slots. But if you book a week earlier you are bound to get at least some slot. The parking is tedious but there is a playground nearby around which cars can be parked.
The restaurant has one of the most courteous set of waiters and the most pleasant mannered managers. They take you to your seat and help you get seated.
The buffet starts with a complimentary drink which may be a mock-tail or soft drink or beer. I have always favoured the orange slushee mainly for the beautiful glass its served in.
The joint features a live band. And the art decorations are minimalistic but set a perfect ambience and despite the crowd there's no hustling and comparatively quiet, romantic even ( if your girl/ guy is a foodie, this is the spot). They have a see through kitchen which is quite fun to watch when u take breaks between eating( which you'll definitely do).
The Starters - The heroes of the entire show. Find me a restaurant with better starters and I m willing to give up eating non-veg entirely. The grill has everything. the most succulent chicken n fish. vegetables too. But the real stars are the prawns. U cannot stop having them. And they don't stop giving too. The grill sauces for applying over the meat are too good n they have 3 varieties for you to experiment. Then come the on table served starters. The usual being chicken leg tandoori. a veg cutlet style dish. mutton sheekh kebab. and CAJUN POTATO. ( I put it in caps just so u know me despite being a hardcore meat-eater cannot leave this place without having my fill of their cajun potato. There have been days I have gone here just for the Cajun potato) The best.
when you have had your fill of starters which will be almost three fourths of most average person's meal time here ( I have spent an entire hour eating only starters once - shamefully indulgent), u head out to the main course spread which on the non-veg side has a soup, two types of biryani, one sea food gravy, mostly crab, one chicken one mutton n one egg gravy. They also have a salad bar serving bout 5-6 salads and papads. The Indian breads are brought to your table on request.
The entire main course pales in comparison to the starters but stands out when u look at it alone. A perfectly awesome spread if you take into account the veg spread too which has steamed rice pulav and noodles.
When u have finally filled up your tummy till it bursts with the main course u can go to the dessert bar which is a beast unto itself. The most delicious hot gulab jamuns, ice cream wit toppings, cheese cake, brownie and much much more.. And ending with their freshly cut fruit especially their round the year watermelon supply.
On the whole, in my opinion, this is arguably the best buffet one can gorge upon in Chennai. Never ever miss out a chance to give yourself a treat here. For once after spending 800 bucks for a meal you'll feel that it was worth every penny and more!!
Oh God. Even writing about this makes me salivate. I think I am all set for another BBQ nation binge. Its time to start reserving tables again. Ha..

Good Barbeque in the citiy

Its been my favorite restaurant for a long time. I love their barbeque and the deserts served in buffet. Earlier the cost used to be more reasonable and we can feel the value for money. But, the revised tariff has made the food not worth the price. Also, the menu of live barbeque served on the table hasn't been changed for a long while.
It would still be my favorite if the prices are slashed for menu improved.

Caution for Vegetarians !!!!!!!

I had been to this much hyped restaurant once. Being a vegetarian I was SHOCKED to see that both Veg and Non-veg were prepared using the same tong/grill/utensils. Yes, we could see their kitchen through their big glass windows. I immediately complained to the manager but he showed me a face as if he was too insensitive to vegetarians and it does not bother BBQ's reputation. One major problem is that there is only branch in Chennai and we don't easily get reservations. But all good things are hard to come by! :) So be patient and persistent.

Too Much Waiting n Disappointed with Food!

We ent over a week end - friday evening to be precise n had to waitaalmost 45 mins. for a table for 2 ! The comprehensive charge they take for a person was a bit ttoo high especially when there is not much menu preference - either its kind of an all u can eat thing or buffet ! Anyways our complaint was about the food being bad since we had tried quite a bit of the BBQ seafood we found that the food was giving a burnt plastic taste n smell !! and on complaining the staff could not figure it out. We later concluded that it had to be the Brush used to baste the seafood especially while BBQing was scorching as it was being used over the open flames and that was affecting the taste of the food !! Will the Management Please take note !!

Balanced...

Well... Good things first ... Service ,starters. Especially their no Tipping Policy makes Waiters treat everyone equally. Unlike Bangalore BBN...Chennai has bit more to make it to top list. Their Location manager does a Good job in Addressing Issues. So I hope he will take care of below.

a) Reservations..
b) Crowd Control.. Its impossible to enter into the Restaurant sometimes even when you have Reservations. The crowd doesn't have the Patience or Decency to give way to Elderly or children or Ladies..so Management needs to do something.
c) Paying attention to starters , Main Course was not done Justice.
d) Bangalore Unit has much more deserts??...

But Overall Its a Place for Non-veggies. its worth a visit atleast once.

Waiting is a PAIN! Food is pretty good :)

Of late, Barbeque Nation seems to have becomes insanely popular with the Chennai crowd. There hasn't been a single day that I've landed up here and not had to wait at least 30 minutes to get a seat. It doesn't help that the management is extremely dicey about taking reservations. Last time, one of the employees was really rude to a friend who just asked him how much time it'd approximately take us to get a table.
Now about the food. The starters doesn't seem to have changed in the last year. Although the names on the day's menu might be different they always end up serving the same food at the table as starters. However, the food overall remains really good and considering it's unllimited good food, I can totally understand why so many people would want to flock to this place. The Chicken Biriyani as well as the Dal on the main buffet spread is always delicious as are the gulab jamuns that they serve for dessert.

Ya literally! Definitely a place to gain a few extra pounds! You just cant stop eating the barbeques!! Excellent starters, probably the best you could find in Chennai!! The potato starter and the chicken are definitely among the best!! and they make sure you get the starters according to your taste buds! :D How ever much, you want, you can just eat, eat and eat. They also have a good spread of desserts. The only minus is the waiting time. It is close to impossible to book a place during weekends! They must consider opening another outlet here!

Only for Non-Vegetarians!

After several hours of waiting, we finally got our seats at this incredibly hyped place. Although the price includes the mains and desserts, I've to mention that this is a starters-only place. Loved the concept of having a mini grill on our tables, but the food was very inconsistent. The first serve of the chicken starter was overcooked, and the next a bit under.
And I must mention that they only serve 5 of the starters mentioned in the menu. It changes everyday. And I also have to mention that a few of them taste similar. So, there aren't that many options as one would think. Worth a visit, but only once!

Great place to be in and good service and excellent barbecues will be the hot flavor. I have been to Barbeque nation 6 times. Each time when i been here i have not gone for the main course :-) bcoz the starters were extremely good.

Sometimes, i felt the way they prepare chicken is extremely good as it was very soft. Perfect place to be with family to enjoy the Barbecues.. :)

EPIC EXPERIENCE!!

This place lives to all the expectations. The starters are just tooooo good. The chicken kebabs, tikkas, prawns, read meat everything is mouth watering especially with their unique way of serving and the on-table grill. I have visited this place quite many times and every time i find the service to be excellent with all the waiters very prompt and eager to feed you until you are not superrr full!! One Dish i love the most even being a non-vegetarian is "Cajanus Potato". This is most awesome veg dish i ever had. They make it so properly and crispy that i love it. Definitely a 10/10 in the starters. Well i never had a chance to eat the main course coz i always eat the starters way too much and directly go for desserts. The desserts are pretty decent but they can definitely improve in this section. Once they served rasmalai in dessert, which was epic, but i guess the dessert menu keeps changing. All in all an awesome experience every time. Definitely worth for repeat visits.

Be it veg or non veg, BBQ nation can never be beat by any barbeq restaurants.
Many varieties of grilled starters which are just a treat to the tastebuds, half cooked by them and the remaining portion left in our hands on the table,a good experience.
Decent price rates and they have early bird offers as well, when u arrive early as soon as their service starts.Only hassle is booking table there,as its always crowded these days, its very difficult to book a table.Best place I would suggest for barbeq lovers.

I found that their starters r too good in such a way tht I didnt have enough space to fill in main course..and especially I like their Prawn and chicken starters...To tell abt the ambience that was pretty good and pleasant ..but the drawback is money, for lunch itself it is 618 which was earlier 530...and u will feel that that u havent usurped ur money completely as u could not try maincourse...wat I and my frnds hav done was we resorted to deserts and starters...and one of ma frnd who tried maincourse said tat wasnt worth the mark...

Ideal Barbeque and first of its kind

1st time in Chennai when I heard of a barbeque type restaurant I was surprised. Visited this place a month back and overall my experience has been pleasant.

1. Price - I find it quite high for the amount of food served. May be it seem like a strategy of the hotel to balance the amount of food served against the price. Some tend to eat too much whereas a few will restrict. With this they can gain quite a sum of money.

2. Starters - Both veg / non-veg were good though I prefer veg food. You need to keep an eye on including too much oil. Else, you will end up eating very less for the money you paid.

3. Ambiance - too perfect for a gathering. We had a blast and thoroughly enjoyed. Make sure you make a weekend booking well in advance. Getting a slot is like getting a tatkal ticket :D :D

4. Service - excellent and nothing to complain. They answered almost all our calls. Hindi, English, Tamil, whatever they speak, they serve well.

Overall - a pleasant experience barring the price.
