Cringing, craving, bingeing, braving... you always have an opinion on what's hot and what's not in your city and we just love to hear it. Besides, there's no better place to satiate that itch to bitch!
Sunte Ho - Gulzar Saab's dramatization of Rabindranath's short story and his own Mard, scripts the object/abject cultural conditioning of women in their distinctly discernible spaces. Sunte Ho is the story of women, all represented by the signatory of the explosive letter, Mrinal. As she represents herself Mrinal also represents the disturbing insignificance of Boro Bou, Mrinal's elder sister-in law and her young sister Bindu. The second story Mard is about a contemporary woman who finds herself answerable to the vanity of man,in this case her own son… The two stories are presented together as a double bill as reflection on status of women, how she has been treated by man down the ages.
