Don't be pale around the gills if you crave some fish. Head to Charni Road, bang opposite the station is this lovely palatial style inspired restaurant: The Bombay Havelli feat on Mr. Batliwala's Patra ni Paneer. Fillet like cottage cheese is enveloped in green chutney marinade and neatly wrapped in leaves. It's cooked just enough for it to be tender and slightly succulent. If you love Patra Ni Mach, this is the closest you can get.
Crispy Aromatic Mock Duck @ UmameChurchgate

Duck meat is pretty exotic and Umame at Churchgate is the place to try it out sans the guilt. Done just as beautifully as an actual duck, the Crispy Aromatic Mock Duck is served with Mandarin Pancakes and Hoisin Sauce.

Who could’ve possibly thought of this? The ‘meating joint’ famous for its Chorizo Rice, Beef Burgers, and Bratwursts serves a sumptuous yet comforting Eggplant Schnitzel for the rather rare vegetarian patrons. Slices of eggplant (aubergine or brinjal) are crumbed and fried until crisp golden.
