The first thing to be noted about Mocha is the ambiance and decor. It's a really comfy place for lunch, snacks or just hookah and the music playing is very appropriately chosen, dance remixes. While I cannot speak about the hookah as I have not tried it yet, the food and drinks are quite amazing. While the food is quite expensive, the portions are huge. The servings of lemonades (of which there were different varieties!) were not only very large but served in decorated jars, which I found really creative. The grilled chicken was quite dry, despite being otherwise well prepared. The pizzas are thin crust and absolutely delicious, as were the muffins. The staff was also very attentive. I was a little surprised, as well as disappointed, in the lack of WiFi access here. But all in all this has to be one of the best hookah bar/cafes in town.
Better than starbucks or CCD as far as normal coffees are concerned. The thin base pizza was delicious (if you carefully select the toppings). I found the waiters very entertaining. They use to have hukkah in their menu and I am still not sure why'd they remove it. A nice place to stop by for those who are tired and willing to have coffee. The seats are quite comfortable.
I will say, I like the interior of Mocha. The seating area on the ground floor has a little Victorian feel to it with antique looking high-back sofa seats and the chandelier. Walk up the stairs and enter the shisha den of Mocha. So red! It is pretty comfortable when the place is not too crowded. Otherwise, it gets pretty suffocating. Smoke on shisha and sip on a fizzy drink from a jam bottle. Ah. Yes. It is fun to hangout with friends, listen to music and laugh your hearts out. One thing you must certainly not miss is the maggie preparations at mocha. Look out for the events Mocha keeps organizing. It's just not a cafe. it is more than a cafe. You have to be at Mocha to find out more.
Peaceful, calm, quiet and composed! It has all the attributes of a perfect "adda" spot! The food, well, it's as illustrious as ever and it's well-thought of location, near PARK CIRCUS turns it into the busiest of the lot! I remember the day when we had to wait for perhaps 2 hours to get into the cafe, literally drenched in the rain, but the soothing cold coffee and chicken pakoras alleviated any sort of grievance what SO ever! The average service time is extremely low and thus MIND-BLOWING!
Having visited the Banaglore Mocha earlier I had expected a similar decor with an old house feel to it but the Calcutta Mocha was a little different. Being rather new, the decor was classy with a separate smoking room(Hookah). The distinct part about Mocha is its red lights but for my personal taste its a bit too Red. The 1st floor is the smoking room for hookah which is mostly full. The food menu is good too. The pitchers they serve the drinks in, are also fascinating. This place is more expensive than most cafes but has a lot more to offer. Need a place to hang out with friends?? Give Mocha a try.
Wow.. What a place to be!! Loved every bit of it: be it decor, food, hukka, service or coffee. Sanjay you are doing a fab job mate and i am sure this joint will be in the TOP League in the days to come especially in this part of the country. I have been to a lot of places but the kind of fun I have had here, its un-thinkable and un-matchable. Even, I have referred this joint to a lot of my friends but till date no one has come up with the negative vibe. Congrats and All the very best folks :) Keep it up
Whenever i am free and need a place to hang out i call up my friends and we go hang out at mocha.......love the ambience, the crowd, the music, the sheesha and definitely the service that mocha provides...mocha is definitely my number 1 "to go" place
A relatively new entrant, Mocha is tucked away in a cosy corner of an inconspicuous lane in central Kolkata. Split levels, flashy décor, bizarre colour mix, quirky style and the wacky crowd desdcribe it all. The sharing jhulas and flavoured hookahs are added attractions. The large menu featuring a lazy breakfast with pancakes, cheesy French sandwiches, Yoghurt Smoothies served in jam jars, French fries with Cheese Curd, thick shakes and assorted coffees and Exotic Lava Lava Cake are all hot picks.............
I happened to visit my cousin's place in Kolkata a month back and was very keen to explore places there. After visiting some interesting places, I suggested my cousin that we could visit Mocha. As I entered the place, I understood why this place had such a buzz all around. The place just stuns you with the ambiance and vibrant colors you cant take your eyes off. The place is decorated with contemporary designs and comfortable seating. We just loved being there. What made my visit more pleasant was that the food and service both were equally good. If you happened to visit Kolkata then dont forget to visit this place. I am sure you wont regret it!
What I love about Mocha all around India is that it is total value for money. The location is slightly off track, but the service and the style totally makes up for it. We were charmed by the croque monsier, which is one of the dishes I found here that I have not seen all around Kolkata, and they serve an incredible array of good coffee which comes piping hot. I adored the Lindt Hot Chocolate and the panini sandwiches.
The ambiance is also great. I liked the relaxed node and the book store right in the middle of the shop. Overall, lovely.
