Gone down hill but there is still hope.

I reviewed this place months ago and gave it 5 stars. Since then, it has gone down hill. The chef Jorge moved back to Mexico and they got a new guy who has changed things for the worse. They still make decent margaritas and salsa, but the dishes have lost flavor. The guacomole which used to be fresh and vibrant has turned into a pasty substance and the beans are runny now. They are even putting broccoli in the veggie tacos now. This is sad for me to write because it was my favorite restaurant in Delhi before the chef was changed. If they would just go back to what they were doing in October, we would rally the troops and get them all to go back there. But the management is not reacting despite several written hints from us on the comments cards. I am an upbeat person and would rather have just pulled my earlier endorsement than make these negative comments, but the Burp web site won't let me erase my earlier positive comments. So this is my only recourse ... please don't rely on my earlier positive comments ... they are no longer accurate.

must visit on Thursday night

This place plays latin music and has salsa dances on Thursday night. Besides salsa, they have Merengue/Tango/Bachata/Cumbia/Reggeaton.

So it is a must visit on Thursdays, when besides, authentic yummy Mexican food, you get to put on your dancing shoes and enjoy in a very relaxed atmosphere. It is loads of fun.

Viva La Revolucion

Authentic Mexican in a city i loathe. What are the chances??? A friend does some consulting work for Sanchos and highly recommended the place. My love for Tex-Mex meant i did not too much convincing to begin with.

The place is on the 3rd floor and has an additional level accessible by a staircase. This level is airy, attractive with large glass windows and the mainstay of the place. The lower level is more traditional restaurant like.

The service was quick, helpful and friendly. The moment we sat down we were met with menus as well as some soup in a shot glass (not so good though) We wanted some chips to much on and were offered a smattering of assorted chips with 3-4 different salsa, most of them were good except one.

The nachos were served with guacamole, sour cream, beans and jalapeņos. However as good as it sounds it did not come together as well.

The entrees were an excellent burrito served with mexican rice (just dry enough to make it perfect) and referitos, which were too wet/gravy like. The enchiladas were nice too, different from what i have had usually but good nonetheless.

Cold prevented me from having drinks but i had a sip of what must have been an excellent Margarita.

Overall the food is great, the ambiance is just as good as is the service. The menu is fairly expansive so there is plenty to try next time around. They even have a solid bunch of sides to order.

If you love tex-mex you must go, if you wish to try something new, head down to Sanchos.

Damage for 3 with one drink 2300.

all mexican..

finally a real mexican restaurant..not one that serves everything under the sun.... i always wondered why no one was taking advantage of the lack of good mexican places in delhi...

food was great... i enjoyed the nachos bar...chips n 7-8 diff kinds of salsa sauces..one was incredibly hot; the waiter warned me but i thought i could handle it... not really!... and in starters i'd suggest the jalapenos stuffed with cheese! my fav dish there!!..

but its gona be 4 stars for me coz the main course lacked variety and a bit of the genuine taste.. having said that though, i'm damn sure i'm gona make many more trips to this place!!..

Real Mexican Food!

My family (including three teenagers) had lunch at Sanchos today. I can't tell you how relieved and excited we are to find real Mexican food in Delhi. Nothing else we've found comes close. A good variety of tasty salsas. We had tacos, enchiladas, quesadillas, chips/salsas, margaritas and even the dessert sampler. Everything was delicious. We had several special orders (remember the teenagers) that the kitchen nailed exactly as was requested. The service was great as is was ambiance and presentation of the food. We will certainly be back many times.
