I read the review of this place on Burrp long time back and had made my mind, that I wanted to check this place out. then this place was mentioned a couple of days back and today I decided to give it a shot.
Being a Sunday evening, the place was completely full, however they took my number and gave us a time and said to be there by that time, and if a table is available before than, they will call me up. However we found a standing table outside, and were happy to place our orders. At the first look, the prices looked above average, but then no one said it was cheap.
Being a vegetation, I ordered a Paneer Butter Masala, and my friend ordered some "Murgh Afghani Chuza" (not sure about the name), along with it couple of rumali rotis and the famous Mirchi Paranthas. The food looked great, infact the chicket looked so good that even I was tempted to break my 'Sanyas' from non-veg...however somehow I prevailed. The quantity of Paneer was the best I have ever seen, and I had to get some of it wrapped, as I was not able to finish it off.
The rumali roti was average, however the Paranthas were very well done, and they do deserve the fame attached to them. In the end the damage was around Rs.400 for two of us, however I felt it was worth it.
I would definitely recommend this place for an family outing, and look forward to visiting this place more often, despite the distance from my place.

Colonel Kebabz and I go way back. During school days I used to buy kebabs from the nearby Som Vihar outlet and carry it back for some of the hostelers who weren't allowed to get out of the school premises.
Anyway, this is among my favorite places for Mughlai food (I think I'd pick it over Punjabi by Nature and Rajinder Dhaba). My staple here is Kasturi Gobhi(Even if you consider Gobhi a second rate sabzi - which I do - this is worth a try) and Mirchi Parantha (I think a bread unique to Colonel's). Recently tried the Chicken Korma which was also delicious.
Another one of their popular dishes is Chicken Bhayankar - which is quite spicy as I have been told. I haven't tried too many kebabs here - inspite of the name except seekh (which is fairly standard) and malai tikka (Rajinder is better).
You may have to wait a bit to get seated.
Also, a note on the Som Vihar outlet - the chef is different - and Kasturi Gobhi is cooked differently in both places. Wish the MG Road outlet hadn't been closed.
