Both literally and figuratively; the food is Greek, and it's in Safdarjung, which certainly isn't the first place that comes to mind when you think of eating out! Still, this is a lovely little place, cosy and comfortable, and a great option for dinner. The lighting is dim, the ambience is great, and seating upstairs is very nice indeed, with a private little nook. Full marks for atmosphere!
The food is Greek, and this is probably the only place in the whole city (apart from their DefCol branch, of course) where you can sample real Hellenic fare, now that Odysseia in CP has closed its shutters. The bottom line is that you should come here expecting something new and different! A few dishes have been added to the menu to create a sense of familiarity (like feta cheese pasta), but there's enough and more for you to discover! I would recommend the Faki broth, which is like a Greek minestrone. There are so many main courses to choose from, I couldn't confidently compare them after only a handful of visits. Still, I would certainly recommend the Baklava for dessert. Even though I'm not a dessert person, I had heard a lot about this famous Mediterranean sweet, and I was not disappointed at all!
So if you're adventurous and looking for something that's different from the standardized fare that's turned out by most European eateries in this price bracket, you should definitely give this place a shot. But you've got to keep an open mind!
