Most crowded Place !!

I am a vegetarian, and Plant Chicken, better known as Changezi Chicken is the place which die-hard non vegetarians swear by.

But still I crave for their Shahi Paneer and Dal Makhani almost every week, specially after few Drinks.

The first time I went there, I was surprised to see the crowds. Even though the pace has a seating seating capacity of around 80 people, but still there were 'crowds' waiting outside for sitting space and takeaway.

As stated earlier I am vegetarian and there are only 4 options on veg menu, i.e. Shahi Paneer, Dal Makhani, Mix Vegetable & Paneer Tikka.

I have been to that place numerous times, however never had the Paner Tikka. I almost always have Dal Makhani and Shahi Paneer and they are far better than other more expensive and well known places I have eaten at. However the real Specialty is the Non-Veg selection, its very famous for its Changezi Chicken, which is made on giant Tawa's, and almost everyone who comes there, is there for Changezi only. Mutton Burra, Tandoori Chicken, Fried Chicken are other popular items.

In breads they serve Khamiri Roti, not of the same standards as Karims but manageable. They have other options of bread as well like Naan, Butter Naan, Rumali roti etc.

They will serve a plate full of onions and half a lemon. On the table they have a container in which they have a special mix of masala, and a bottle of green chutney. Just sprinkle masala on onions, squeeze lemon and put some chutney on them. And get ready for a heavenly meal.

The ambiance is lower Middle class, no frills at all. Not very comfortable seating arrangement, very crowded most of the time, hygiene is sent for a toss, ventilation is bad, service is poor.

But still it is a place, if you have not eaten there, you are not entitled to be called a foodie. Despite all the odds, on a daily basis, thousands of people like me, come from as far a Dwarka and Noida, wait impatiently for half an hour just to get couple of rotis and quarter Changezi.

Not a place for family. However you can get your food packed and enjoy with your family.

It is not expensive at all here is a rough guide..

Shahi Paneer - Rs.40 ( Quantity is enough for Single person)
Dal Makhani - Rs.30( Quantity is enough for Single person)
Mix Vegetable - Rs.40 ( Quantity is enough for Single person)

Changezi - Rs.60 quarter plate (3 pieces) ( Quantity is enough for Single person)

. Rs.110 half plate and Rs.200 for full.

Mutton Burra - Rs. 60 per plate. ( Quantity is enough for Single person)

Khamiri Roti - Rs. 4
Rumali Roti - Rs.2
