In the wake of the recent judgement passed by the Supreme Court of India, regarding the restaurants serving alcohol within 500 metres of the highway, we'd suggest that you call the restaurants to ensure whether they serve alcohol before you visit. Thank you.
it looks quite small from outside but once you move in its quite a decent size place ...the burnt garlic chicken soup is one of the best soups one can have...i would say if your are a seafood fan then it has a lot to offer. i tried the mahesh special jumbo prawns and the pomp fret in red chilli paste which was a treat...the staff was quite courteous and warm...overall gud place for seafood lovers but a bit too overpriced!!!
We decided to celebrate my birthday with a family dinner at Mahesh Lunch Home at Sakinaka on 23rd August. We had heard a lot about the restaurant and were overjoyed that an outlet closer to home was available. The decor was good. Service was attentive but what defines a restaurant is the food which was disappointing. We started off with mocktails which were innovative and very good. We ordered the Chef's special prawns which turned out to be tiger prawns fried KFC style!!! We then order Chicken Tikka Kasturi and Coastal Fish both of which were extremely salty and the fish felt stale. Undettered, we tried the next option for the main course which was Prawns Biryani which was once again reheated/stale with generous helping of salt. My brother is diabetic and the high salt content was a concern especially when it was consistent in all the dishes. Since we were almost done with the dinner, I decided it was too late to correct the situation and thought about mentioning it in the feedback form. The feedback form didn't accompany the bill. We had to ask for it. The manager seemed surprised and questioned us on what went wrong. When I answered, he merely went back. There were no apologies from the staff and they simply dismissed the feedback. I faced something similar at Barbecue Nation, Sakinaka and the chef came back with a fresh batch to win our affections. We were too full to comply but were most impressed with their concern. I guess that's what defines a professional joint from an outlet which takes their customers for granted.
