Loved the cappuccino

I would agree with Priety_Foodie. This is really a good place to grab a cuppa joe. Whether you wanna grab a quick coffee or just hang around with friends, this place has got the right kind of ambiance.

This is one of my favourite hang-out spots as well.

Loved the food

Yay, I get to be the first one to review this newly opened place. The place serves Italian cuisine (d'oh) and is located about a minute away from the Phoenix Mills entrance. I went there with a colleague this afternoon. The place is new and it showed. The staff was still trying to perfect the layout of the tables, chairs etc. The cashier was all over the place and there was some general hullabaloo in the restaurant.

The ordering was quick and hassle free. I've been to their other locations many times and knew what I wanted. So we ordered a Margarita Pizza and a Caesar Salad. The pizza was good. While the Caesar salad had fresh ingredients, the dressing was a bit off the mark. It was tasty, but quite the way it should be made. I guess they omitted the Worcestershire Sauce from it.

The meal set us back by Rs. 600 (incl. the tip and taxes).

I'd recommend the place and look forward to go there again when the missus doesn't pack lunch for me :-)

Great evening snack

The Ganthiya's make a great evening snack. In fact, they are welcome any time of the day. When in Ahmedabad, I do make it a point to have the ganthiyas here.

The chutney that they serve along is really delicious. The place is always buzzing with people, no matter what time of the day it is.

Besides Ganthiya, they also have Fafda, Samosa and similar snacks.

Classy experience

We went to this place for dinner last night. Being a Saturday night, we made a prior reservation for our party of 6 people, but it seemed unnecessary at 8.30 pm as the place was not too packed. Seems like the late night eating out culture of the city permeates this Thali joint as well.

As soon as we reached the place, the valet took my car away for parking. Once we entered the place, they handed out roses to the ladies. A nice touch, I think.

The place serves thalis only. The menu is pre-decided and all you are required to do is enjoy the food. The menu was non-committal to a particular cuisine, as we were served miniature Uttapams and spinach soup as appetizers. The main course had Aam Ras, Yellow Dal, Spinach subzi, Dahi Bhalle, Raw Chana salad, Gujarati Kadhi, Vatana (white peas), Papad, Khichdi, Chaas, Jalebi, Kulfi, etc etc. Basically the Thali was loaded with food. Everything tasted good and was not too spicy. So you can go there with kids. The only negative was that the mini parathas were made with refined flour (Maida), instead of the wheat flour. But everything else made up for this negative.

The service was very good, un-rushed and the servers friendly. The ambiance was pleasant and the noise level was under control as well.

I think, I've found my family friendly dinner place in this town. A must visit.

Theek thaak

The other day our entire team went over the Phoenix Mills compound to catch a drink or two. As both Brew Bar and Sports Bar were unavailable for some reason or the other, we decided to reluctantly head over to Noodle Bar.

This place has a distinctive restaurantish ambiance.

For the first time the waiter was quite prompt in taking our orders. For the second time we had a hard time trying to catch his attention. Also the "water guy" was hell bent on leaving some of the water glasses on our table, inspite of our telling him atleast 5 times not to do so. He said that his manager pressures him into doing it :-(

Anyway, as the place was not too crowded, we had a really good time. The beers were served nice and cold. Unfortunately they didn't serve us any snacks (chakhna) to go with our beers.. but we did order some appetizers like Spring Roll and something chicken (not sure about the name).

Overall an okayish place, but next time I'd rather go to Brew Bar when I am in the mood for an after office drink.
