Senapati Bapat Marg, Phoenix Mills, Lower Parel, Mumbai

Average

could have been better

Copper Chimney & their sister concern The Bombay Brasserie used to be a great name in dining out about 15-20 years ago, both holding court at Worli. Then CC was moved to the Brasserie (which was phased out) I always thought the Brasserie was better but anyway.

Time went on and Copper Chimney expanded rapidly, first on its own and then as part of blue foods. Overall the quality has spiraled down as the brand got bigger. , the Copper Chimney at worli was dreadful on my last visit.

9 of us sat down for dinner last night, the place was cramped, Copper Chimney is a small section of the larger Spaghetti Kitchen.

We had Kadai Paneer which was very good but more like a Chinese style dish than Indian, the Malai Kofta was sweet & heavy. The dal maharaja was decent. the breads were okay, they insisted the roti they served us was wheat and not maida but they were wrong.

Overall the food was average, the service as well. They overcharged us despite reminders.

was 3500 for a beer and a drink + food.

sad decline.

3/4, Dheeraj Pali Arcade, Dr Ambedkar Road, Pali Naka, Bandra (W), Mumbai

Poor

sucks donkey d...

I used to go 5 spice in town, it started out okay, then got pretty bad. gave up.

multiple people told me their Bandra branch was great! the end word in chinese and what not (thats what i get for listening to people)

so i got suckered into going there yesterday, despite all my protests, i said what the hell, maybe i am being too skeptical (i wasnt)

the place is actually not bad looking, it was done up nicely but it has not been maintained well and is losing its sheen.

the service is retarded, they gave me these cheap red plastic chopsticks, i asked for wooden ones and they said they would send them in a minute. they kept sending the red ones insisting they were wooden, when they were clearly plastic.

i then proceeded to break one to show them it was plastic and not wooden (id have set it on fire if i had a lighter)

anyway, the food was terrible, i am still sick from it. we got the burnt chilli garlic soup which was actually pretty good. the crispy potato was volcanic, the hakka button mushrooms were just like mushrooms in general no specific treatment to them.

we then got pan fried noodles which were horrible (how can you screw them up?) the burnt chilli garlic rice was pretty good.

we got the entree to be something in chili garlic sauce with cashews. there were like 5 cashews.

overall, the quality of the food is below par, the taste is also marginal. i think roadside stalls would do better Chinese food.

it is def value for money because it cost less than 2000 for 4, the quantity is also huge.

but overall, one of the worse meals i have had in a while...

Juhu Tara Road, Next to Mocha, Juhu, Vile Parle (W), Mumbai

Excellent

Rocking!!!

I dont do suburbs but since our close friends live in Bandra we were cajoled into this. good thing too.

Del Italia sits prominently opposite Juhu beach, its made to look like a typical Mediterranean space, plants, windows, white washed walls. Though they way they have gone about it looks more like a poor mans Olive.

The appetizers were just fantastic we got the bruschetta which was very good, then we had the peppers stuffed with mozzarella which was just divine (was so good i had another one WITH my entree)

The Pizza was not bad, the side of potato and rosemary was crisp but a little bland.

The artichoke & goat cheese risotto was good but not as good as the sun dried tomato risotto. The spinach and feta cheese ravioli was not as good as i expected but still good.

The service was fairly friendly but the dishes took a little time. Also, the portions are very European sized so each one should order their own.

Damage : 3000 for 4 without drinks.

Shop No 16/17, Gasper Enclave, Bandra (W), Mumbai

Good

good

was there last night for an early 8pm dinner. the place itself is okay, typical of the Bandra restaurants in a shop. its kitted out to be nice and comfortable though limited.

i love the menu design, very cool. the food itself is okay, the soup the Toscana was a bean based soup fairly boring, over salted.

the main course was goat cheese and spinach risotto which was pretty great. the home made pasta in tomato was good but too safe.

also had the black currant with soda which was good.

no dessert. service was prompt, slowish but not as bad as i was expecting.

damage 1000 for 2 with no drinks. not vfm.

Sakinaka Junction, Andheri-Kurla Road, Sakinaka, Andheri (E), Mumbai

Good

Pretty good

was there for an early dinner yesterday around 730. was seated promptly and the staff seemed fairly efficient and well trained.

the food we went for was the hot & sour soup which was fairly average. The three treasure veggies were good if a little blandish. The golden onion fried rice was absolutely fantastic. The pan fried noodles were awesome as well. The ice tea was weak.

overall the food seems pretty good, will have to try them out in greater depth again.

Damage for 2 without drinks 1200
